It depends upon your personal perspective and habit... Kung naa ka sa layo ang mingaw di kabayran pero imong income maayo. Kung maghisgot ka ug tax, pwerteng dakoa sa tax ni uncle Sam, pero makita lang nimo imong tax sa mga karsada, beneficio, ug serbisyo sa ilang gobierno.. sa atoa pwerteng daghan kawatan, gkan sa police,lto, customs, bir, walay mapili...mao nga ang mga negosyante dili mamayad ug sakto, ila nalang tigumon ug bayaran ang agencia sa gobierno kung dunay deperensya, duna pai sobra. Sa Singapore, (the city of fines), di ka kapalit ug chewing gum, mahimo ka pa ulion sa airport kung magdala ka ug gum... mangluwa ka bisan asa, dakpon, multa...Ang pinoy nga tua sa gawas buotan ug maayo mo sunod sa bala-od sa uban nasod, pero kung dia sa ato, di jud mo sunod, bisan pag tabok sa dalan di jud mo agi sa pedestrian crossing...ang nag drive pod makiglumba ug tabok sa mga motabok sa pedestrian unya mo singit pa...

But, truth of the matter is,"there is no place like home". If you work abroad, you must be strong, and be there to save for your future and retire here. You would not want to end up in a nursing home. Filipinos , Singaporeans, Chinese value their elders and respect them. Inside a train, if you don't yield your seat for an elderly your attention will be called. We Filipinos take care of our elders as part of our culture and being respectful.

Singapore only became independent from Malaysia, only in the 60's. Their land area is so small it can fit Cebu. But because of their nationalism, personal discipline and habit, they are among the richest nations. In the 60's wealthy Thailanders send their children to school in Cebu, now they have the best Institutes in Asia. After the 2nd world war, Japan was flattened. Everybody was poor and they had to pay us war reparation fees for their damages. They have completed their payment and are now among the richest nations.

We have to start from among ourselves to change our nation. Let us fall in line and wait for our turn when paying taxes. Let us not allow fixers to be ahead of us. Let us take courage and report corruption in government. Let us jail cheaters and scammers. If all of us follow our own rules, then we need not go to other countries to work.
