Sakto jud ka, nisamot ka grabe ang traffic sa mambaling. Dako jud hinuon ug gasto ang road widening, but in the long run, kinahanglanon jud nato. Imagine 5 years from now, unya 1 lane ra gihapon ta sa flyover unya imagine kung nagpuno ta ug another lane pag road widening, dako jud kaayo ug deprensya.

flyover + road widening is indeed the best solution but perhaps road widening is more sufficient than a flyover. take for instance kanang sa escario extension from golden peak hotel to parklane hotel. since gi widening nana nga dalan, halos wala nay trapik. bigger roads accomodate more cars. dako tuod ang dalan pero bottleneck na trapik lang tungod diha sa intersection sa parklane unya buot huna hunaon naa nanay flyover diha pero wa ghapon ka solbad sa traffic. pulpol ghapon ga gama anang flyover diha. more cars and PUVs access ayala coming from grand con and more cars are accessing escario extension coming from ayala. since free flowing ang traffic gikan sa flyover sa salinas road and juan luna avenue, bottleneck ra ghapon diha tanan sa ilawm padung ayala.

Well, to stay on topic, I think two lane flyovers are only temporary, and well, stupid. Just one car gets stuck on the two laner, grabe ang congestion. Overpasses should be at least four lane, otherwise, widening is the better option.
With regard to banning private vehicles, before we can even think that, we have to put in a proper mass transportation system first. Implement the BRT and ban jeepneys because they stop anywhere, even at the bottom of those two lane flyovers where they dangerously cut into the oncoming traffic of the roads below and then block the cars. Someone should put up signs at the bottom of the flyovers: EXTREME DANGER! NO DROPPING OFF OF PASSENGERS/NO CROSSING THE STREET.

^its not about getting mad with regards to using the funds for the flyover but its a matter of common sense and worth of the people's money. we are a progressive city yet we dont have the infrastructure to become one. its a fact that flyovers affect the business within the area. im not siding with the businessmen affected but their business somehow helps the city's economy and flyovers have been proven (over and over again) they have little importance or doesnt even resolve the city's traffic problem.
wider roads accommodate more vehicles. its illogical to cram more students inside a small classroom. no need to add more chairs but rather expand or build another room.
