you're asking why you are being sued? you used your emotions not your intelligence. you never slander someone in public, not even someone who has wronged you. you, your family and your friends may know the truth but the law does not. prove it to the law first.

Did you IMPLICITLY write down this person's name?
if not then thats one point for you.
Did you keep records of the money you sent? Transactions which show her name and yours bearing proof that you gave her money?
Then more points for you.
The text messages of this person threatening to sue you and spread bad words about you if ever you saved it on your phone while having confirmation it was indeed this person that sent these is evidence
against her


Is there malice on your part? Was this done without just cause? In your case, where I hold true and factual the statements you made. Then there is NO MALICE, since there is justifiable cause for the things you did.

and frankly speaking, i can't imagine how she could possibly sue you considering the financial restraints this friend of yours must possibly have. looking at how she has threatened you with baseless random bullsh!t is enough for you to counter sue.

remember to establish libel
1. It must be made publicly (the defamatory statements).
2. Subject must be identifiable (if you wrote her name, then that is kind of bad but there is hope).
