Thread: AMD or INTEL

    Default AMD or INTEL

Intel Wins the fastest processor... and stability...
AMD wins Performance - value... if assebled right = 100% stable.

hmmm... I think AMD still wins for me... no body in the practical World needs a 3.06GHz processor yet. unless you are a performance freak and has a lot of money...
Wala ko sulti bati ang intel... if i can afford it, why not? i recommend intel for anybody, just think about that there is an alternative. wala pa na-monopolize sa Intel ang market. its up to the end-users kung asa gyud sila.

AMD is x86-compatible micrprocessor and it supports that latest graphical instructions... and i love it.

there's nothing wrong running with AMD processors. if you want your system to run upright in terms of performance and stability, better run to each of the microprocessor's website for certified compatibility.

either processor will become unstable if configured incorrectly... the only downside of an Athlon processor is its inability to "throttle down" on thermal failure... what I mean by thermal failure is that when you place the heatsink incorrectly or if it falls off, it's RIP for your processor...

OT: chatted with my uncle who's in the states right now... he has a friend who is an engineer @ AMD... insider info suggests that the Clawhammer will be released this december... hopefully, he can snatch one for me...

And whose fault was it to place the processor on incorrectly? AMD's? or the Technicians?

BeOr is definitely correct. That is the only difference. If you have an intel system and you accidently let the Heatsink and fan fall off, intel has the technology to shut down its processors when this happens and AMD doesnt. But the real question is when does the heatsink and fan fall off? Are we going to shake our computer around when we are using it and even so as long as the heatsink and fan are attached properely, I dont think shaking would cause it to fall. Maybe dropping your entire CPU to the ground would, but will this happen? I dare you to try dropping you CPU im sure you wont ever do it. Maybe during an earthquake your CPU would fall but so will your monitor and everything else. Or even if you drop your cpu by accident lets say you move your table and accidently push the cpu off the table while running(what a *****) then not only will the heatsink fall off but so will your video card and the rest of your peripherals (By the way AMD doesnt burn up right away, in then event that the CPU fell already im sure you would have hurriedly unplugged your system, unless you were "on" something and just stared at your dying PC and laughed)

We will never intentionally drop our cpu's thus concluding we will never intentionally remove our fans while the system is running. (Unless for testing)

Most people say AMD gets hot, well if Intel systems dont get hot too then why do p4's require such huge heasink and fans? Motherboards for p4's even have built in locks for the heatsink and fan not to fall off because they are truly huge!

All I can say is, "its getting hot in HER"e", so take of all our clothes?"

Cant wait for claw hammer, Im glad i never upgraded, im still with the 1600+

there are clips that are too tight and sharp edges... vibrations can cause these clip to cut your sockets plastic retention "lugs"... though this is very remote... it is still a possibility... another form of thermail failure is fan failure... once your fan dies, you will have a very unstable system (i doubt if you can still boot up)... and maybe in some cases, your AMD processor can also BURN to death...
