but c Datu Lapu-Lapu unta is the best fitting as our national hero...sa tanang hero sa phil history, cya ra ang wa namatay sa gyera (except sa salida ni lito lapid.hehe)

the spaniards befriended raja humabon, but raja humabon had some pirate problems in his area of responsibility(not really a pirate, some trouble with the trading routes). spaniards gave a hand and lost to lapu-lapu's tribe..

not bad for kicking foreign hordes though.

pag-chure ana imong giingon ha, palihug ayaw paghimo ug istorbot dre...read ur history lessons well...the spaniards didn't only plan on befriending & doing business in our country, they were invading and colonizing us...and also forcing catholicism down our throats as a way of controlling us...anyway, OT na jud ko ani...

my point was, halos tanan nato heroes like Andres gipatay, gibitay, gi-execute...why am i mentioning this? propaganda. wa jud ta dag-anan sa atoa oppressors & we are an inferior race...pareho ra na nga atoa national bird sauna was the maya (small, fragile, a pest) but we changed na to the phil. eagle. look! we even still have those symbolistic objects to give the pinoy color: bahay kubo, carabao, coconut (way sulod ang utok).

For me, Andres Bonifacio is a great national hero. Humble beginnings but passionate and charismatic. He co-founded a revolutionary organization and his "Ten Commandments" of the Katipunan is excellent in its ideals.

It is unfortunate for our history that a person and leader like him was betrayed and eliminated by unscrupulous individuals; his fellow revolutionaries no less!

I loved Andres Bonifacio's story from the moment i first read it in my elementary years...

A lot of good lessons we can get:
(1) he could have won the war if he followed Sun Tzu's basic laws on warfare by heart.
(2) leadership by example
(3) in warfare, politics is also as important as your army & weapons.
(4) propaganda 101
(5) guerilla tactics 101
(6) love of country no matter what

I. Ibigin mo ang Diyos ng buong puso.

II. Pakatandaang lagi na ang tunay na pag-ibig sa Diyos ay siya ring pag-ibig sa Tinubuan, at iyan din ang pag-ibig sa kapwa.

III. Itanim sa iyong puso na, ang tunay na kahalagahan ng puri’t kaginhawahan ay ang ikaw’y mamatay dahil sa ikaliligtas ng
Inang-Bayan.

IV. Lahat ng iyong mabuting hangad ay magwawagi kapag ikaw’y may hinahon, tiyaga, katwiran at pag-asa sa iyong inaasal at ginagawa.
