ok...ok...maybe i should have worded the last part of my post differently. what i meant was this particular processor i'm asking about is for socket 939 and i didnt mean its codename was 939.
How is this A64 90nm better than Intel's new 6XX series 90nm processors with 2MB cache. In terms of heat and power consumption? how does the 3 Ghz A64's compare with the Intel 630 3Ghz in terms of speed? negligible difference? what other notable differences are there?

Intel pa rin. Heat is no problem bisan dili aircon ang balay sukol bisan 24 hrs.

You need to benchmark your intel system with an AMD system to find out really if its better for you or not.

Intel right now is more hot than AMD processors. But it doesnt mean it will overheat. Its life span though will be shorter but we are talking about years here, by then you would have change to a new rig already. So what matters really, is that you test it side by side with an AMD system and see which one you prefer after running the benchies

For my own, i rather choose Intel for it's good heat disipation...except Prescott cores...I have owned the P4 3.06 Northwood w/ H.T..sound smooth dudes.

Eversince i set up my cousin's computer, i wanted to have the new Athlon 64 90nm...

anyway
Northwood and Prescott user here...

IMO.. Prescott is really hard to cool, but i managed to cool it down to 42 idle/54 load
P4 2.8E[1mb l2 cache, HT, 800mhz]...

really impressed how my Prescott performs...
i have yet to see the performance of the Athlon 64..

AFAIK: Prescott proccies are more power hungry that Athlon 64s
