    Default AMD or INTEL

Mga syo this is my first PC and as per most of my friends advice INTEL man gyud bisan those mga prof nako kay the matter is INTEL IS ALSO KNOWN FOR PRODUCT QUALITY AND RELIABILITY. Of those that I ask for processor, only those "extemist" goes for AMD. The case is like this. Its like having a race car INTEL maybe compared to an ordinary FERRARI while AMD is a MODIFIED FERRARI complete with accessories. The thing between the two is AMD was suit to run beyond its normal speed "overclock".

The comment I could give between the two is this:

INTEL is stained by quality, durability, dependability, stability and performance
AMD is stained by under dog, extreme processor, high speed.

This does not stand that AMD is not dependable, its just that during my quiry about processor mostly I got complains on AMD bec they were unable to provide good cooling thats why most that purchased without knowing encountered PC failure.

With INTEL just provide a good fan basta maka cool lang OK na labi na kun CELERON palit lang ka tag 150 bisan sa advance pwede na.

Di ko bias pero if the next tym I will build a PC I will go for AMD since I am for gaming. Total naa ko Cooler Master Jet 7 ug 2 ka 120mm Nidec fan blower. Wala na prob sa temp.

AMD CPU's are designed to meet the raging temps upto 60 deg C. Or even much higher than that. If you're temps are going wild and crazy at 48-55 deg C, it is safe to say stability is still enjoyable.

It is really a matter of care and maintenance. It is the user that will give stand to the contest between AMD and INTEL. Whats the point of having an INTEL, so cool but yet you don't know how to give extra care.. For sure it won't give you much smile. Same with AMD.

honestly lang guys i dont think continually running a system or maybe a CPU @ above 55degC isnt safe, may it be AMD or INTEL. though most of us say its stable even @ 60degC+ stable, think lang what these temps could do to solder joints/smd parts under the cpu that could easily get melted with only 11watts soldering iron? not mentioning the very very thin wires used on these processors that could melt due to excessive heat. yes, datasheets tells us it could withstand 80-90degC of temperature, but it didnt say it can tru continued use....

"INTEL IS ALSO KNOWN FOR PRODUCT QUALITY AND RELIABILITY" is plain BS... give me your most stable Intel System and I'll configure it to be the most unstable PC you've ever used... Your processor don't make your system stable... all your components are taken into account... if you don't know how to configure your system properly or if you use the wrong components, I assure you that you will have an unstable system. I can make a 20,000 peso AMD system much more stable than a 100,000 peso Intel System.

"Of those that I ask for processor, only those "extemist" goes for AMD" - this is because a lot of people are swayed by the marketing schemes of Intel and because AMD's distro here in the Philippines is almost doing nothing to market AMD... since you said it, "extremists" like me do our own research so we are unlike those who only read handouts given by Intel on their roadshows or who only listen to "technicians" who don't know a thing about "in-depth hardware analysis / setup / configuration"...

"AMD is stained by under dog, extreme processor, high speed." - Intel has a higher speed, AMD has a more efficient architecture.

"With INTEL just provide a good fan basta maka cool lang OK na labi na kun CELERON palit lang ka tag 150 bisan sa advance pwede na." - really? since we are talking about new processors here, show me your 2Ghz Celeron being cooled by a 150 peso cooler from advance... if it's stable, I'll give you a much better cooler... and BTW, I've ordered and configured a lot of AMD Systems that have no special cooling here at the office and they are more stable and reliable than the Intel Systems that was configured by your well known "The Technicians for Intel" of a big computer store in Cebu...

werts, according to this page, solders melt at around 190C so we are pretty much safe in that department. My PC has been running @ 55-60C for months now without problems.

    OT:
Oh man.. looks like there is another tag of war between intel and amd here.

    walang katapusan. hehehe.
if intel will unleash their latest line of products...then amd strikes back with their own.

"whoever wins, we loose"(our pockets) hehehe.

Let this be clear that all of us here are winners. Its just that we want to gather information and share to all what we have knew. The good thing here is that these are based in experience. If you have something to share then go ahead you are very welcome here.

Beor, if you still have some more things to share then open it up. Its nice to hear from you then and hope same thing goes for those members here that I would say EXPERTS na. Tingog mga syo. Feed the dogs. In the end kita ra man gihapon ang bulahan. Oki Doki.

Mga taga arctech, modshope ug insotech unsa pa lain comment na pwede ninyo ma add.

IF i have all the money in the world. For today, I'd buy an Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition system. But, still an AMD Athlon 64 FX is at its side. Hehehhe... there's no way i'm going to ignore the growing AMD.

Right now, AMD processors sales in Cebu is growing really fast. Boxed processors are available at low price. Here at Insotec, still AMD systems dominating @ 70-75% over Intel.

Here in istorya.net.. AMD is superior and INTEL is the opposite. Foolishness aside, you are right Ferl! You can really choose your CPU. What we are sharing is that INTEL is not totally the best CPU around. And CPU's are not only the barometer for stability and reliability. Like Beor said, its a system and all parts much be accounted.
