another round of the never-say-die North-South enmity eh? the arguments go round and round, one gets dizzy with all the redundancy.
Do you agree that Cebuanos speak better english than Tagalogs? Tagalogs just can't drop their Manileno accent. Cebuanos on the other hand speak more distinct and profound english because of the nature of pronunciation of their dialects.
that depends really on which slice of the Cebuano pie we are talking about. of course, since the middle class and the intelligensia (which i presume constitutes most of the members of this forum) almost always only associate within its own social class, it's quite safe to say that when the Cebuano middle class and the Cebuano intelligensia talks about 'Cebuano' as an ethno-liguistic group, it usually talks about itself.

but considering the fact that the middle class and the intelligensia are a mere fraction of the Cebuano social pie as a whole, then people (both Cebuanos and non-Cebuanos) might challenge the assumption that the Cebuano middle class and the intelligensia can very well represent the Cebuanos as a whole when it comes to the question whether or not Cebuanos can speak better English, accent-wise, than Tagalogs.

we have to consider the fact that English, though understood by most of the Filipinos (Cebuanos, of course are included in this), it's not something that is widely spoken by the grassroots people that constitute the majority of the population. we know how dismal the state provides for the formal education for this slice of the social strata, and we know of the correlation between educational standing and fluency with English. we know too that how much one uses language is a factor in how well one masters it, both word usage and accent.

which brings about another issue; accents. being the most widely dispersed accent of the English language, the American accent sometimes becomes the standard from which all other accents are judged, especially to those ethnic groups where English is not the primary language itself.

when we say that Cebuanos 'speak better English' than Tagalogs, does this mean that Cebuanos(particularly the middle class/ intelligensia) are presumed to adapt better to the American accent? if so, then does a 'Filipino accent' for speaking English exist? which group best exemplifies this? and can the Filipino accent for speaking English be onsidered valid?

    Default MOVIE..Sakal,Sakali,Saklolo...Naginsulto natong mga bisaya?

Gikan sa Editoryal sa Sun Star Superbalita. DUNAY nangasuko.

    ok back to the topic,
Here in Manila, naa jud sad ng discrimination.

Tagalog people are no less different than people from the south, they also take a bath and eat like normal people do.
akong kauban nga bisaya dri naka kulata ug turkish nga co-worker tungod anang discrimination.

but judy ann has nothing to do with this, maybe ang script writer, producer and even MTRCB for overlooking such.
LOL

lay labot si judy ann ani uy. it's the writer's fault. siguro suya siya sa mga bisaya. basta ako surok akong dugo anang mga tagalog nga magpa as-if. mag in-OA gani sila sa ako atubangan ako jud dayon sila ingnun nga pauli mo sa manila uy.
