Hello @BLX90Six1!!! Totoo yan, yung freedom and ease to move to the neighboring islands is one of the top reasons kung bakit mas gusto ko din dito. Ferry ride lang ang Bohol, Dumaguete, Siquijor, etc..

I worked in Boracay for 3 years and had to take a 6 hour bus ride to Iloilo para lang maka-nood ng sine at maka-pasyal sa mall. Dito sa Cebu, island life ka na, modern city living ka din. San ka pa, right?

I understand some Visayan (maybe 20%) but I'm not really good at learning languages kaya nag English na lang since everyone is comfortable with English here anyway.

    How about you?

How many years have you been here?
    Do you speak Visayan/Cebuano already?
    What made you move?
    Are you staying for good?

Chika-chika lang, maybe we can form a Tagalog group down the line if people respond to this thread. (Not to alienate Cebuanos, but to also have a place to speak in our own tounge po.) Cheers everyone! Peace!
    clan2x na sad ni?...hihihi

last time i went home for a vacation, there are already a number of tagalog taxi drivers plying the city streets. asked them if they want to go back to manila or other parts of luzon where they came from, all i get is a NO. so yeah..

hi @keen, yup, yung baha sa Manila has become part of their daily lives already when it rains. Garbage collection kasi doon palkpak, not to mention that they just throw trash in the street. Creeks are full of garbage kaya baha.

The funny thing @inc-pankz is kapag nag English ka sa Manila akala nila sosyal ka. But here in Cebu even the street vendors speak in English haha. Just keep watching Eat Bulaga and masasanay ka din. Just use "po" a lot. I try to watch the Bisaya news here but can only understand bits and pieces. Mas swerte ka pa din hehe. Oh, and I also don't know how to use ng and sa - sorry

Hahaha...

Don't worry about your accent. You can tell those who complain to shove it up their ass. :P Srsly. Focus on conversational English instead; even if you or they get tongue-tied, it'll benefit you in the long run.

All Pinoys can speak English, but not all Pinoys can converse in English. Tagalog will creep in soon enough.
