Well, that depends sa imong server nga gi test. Kung domestic lang ka, for example, if you test your Bayan going to SKY cable server in Manila, ma ok sad nah imo result kay ang SKY internet has direct peering with Bayan's network. Basta naay direct peering ma okay jud nah. Pero if you perform test going international like what AMD_infinium05 mentioned, mu adto pa nang imong network test paingon sa US before muadto sa Manila servers. Kay lahi man nga network. Mao ng if you have checked, mas taas ang latency mas ubos imong speed nga makuha. Kay ang latency is the computed time your data reaches a certain destination.

Just imagine imong packets from Cebu mu adto pa sa United States mu agi pa sa Pacific ocean before muadto sa Manila?

ibutang nato sakto ka about anang speedtest.. unsaon mn to nmo pag-explain.. kung mag-DL ko file 8KB/s ra jud??

yea, stupidity strikes for this statement from bayantel.... Im aware that it may or may not give accurate line speeds due to some network saturations, or etc.... But even if i did 1000x speedtests to their servers, and i get the right bandwidth, reliable ba ilang connection? do i have a fast internet? will i be happy with web browsing? - answer is NO. you have to get out of your ISP's private network.

bayantel's only concern is your connection from your end to their servers. how bout our connection going to different servers?

in my office we do have bayantel connection... any my latency to pldt is worst! i can even ping singtel.com really good... bayantel and pldt i believe has a peering connection, and i do get 450 - 650 ms latency compared pinging to international servers.

    correction,

performing tests online goes like this local private network > isp private network > submarine fiber optics and etc for international peering > international servers.

ngano mobalik man sa manila kung magtest to international servers? whats in manila that the packet has to go after reaching international server?

bayantel and pldt utilizing this line, but the latency is so crappy.

and i do have better latency with globelines.com.ph

ka weird ani ilang peering oi.. just recently, their AAG was down causing main problems contacting websites, last two-three weeks, there were fiber cut daw. I dont know.

need pa nko test karon ig-uli nko after duty kung ok ba jud..
ayay, nasipt pud amo, duol family park, I`m thinking of switching to bayantel baya.
Update nya if ma-fix imo connection. salamat

Depende sad asa ka nag DL? Torrent? Just to let you know nga nga ang FTP is both send and receive.

    AAG (Asia-America Gateway)
    Asia-America Gateway - Welcome

bayantel and pldt utilizing this line, but the latency is so crappy.
FYI, PLDT never peered domestically with other local Telcos like Bayantel, Globe, Eastern, Mozcom, etc. If you can check the latency from Bayan or Globe going to PLDT, muadto pa sa US ang imong route. Pero kung Bayan to Globe, local ra. Wala mu peer ang PLDT sa domestic local exchange where the rest of the Telcos are.

When you do speedtest international, mubalik jud nah sa Manila or Cebu depends asa ang nag send sa request. The reason why you get results on your latency test.

Also, dili lang AAG ang gina agian as international route, naa pay C2C-EAC, APCN 1 and 2 and the rest. Kung leased line ka pwede ka maka request for a route suited for you. Go with the flow ra ka.
