To the people expressing their opinions, I understand where you all come from. There are some points where I agree with and there are some that I'm not so sure of.
But I guess it all comes down to one thing we all have in common and that is: we all care. And thank God for that, that there are still strong-willed people like you who can think of any way to help.
Now I guess, it's ok for a normal civilian to be taking care of these pets at some point. As long as they have good intentions and do actually care for these creatures (to ppl who feel strongly against this, hear me out, pls read on). And we all know the problems we have with the government and how they're actually not taking care of our zoos here. But I reckon that we should just abide by the law and get our proper papers straightened out. It's not just because the owner is going to be judged entirely by the public because of that, but it's because it's for the owners own good. Who would want infractions or go to jail just because you were actually trying to take care of something? Since we all want to conserve these majestic creatures, I guess the conservationists themselves will see to it that the animals are in the right living conditions and are healthy. You have to set up requirements. Like how big the cage has to be, the diet and if someone is willing to buy one off these breeders, they have to undergo a seminar/training. And the owner may be required to release animals from time to time.
There is a medium for this case. And I know we can all learn to agree. Back to what I said, the point is, we all care. And we can't just sit here arguing and leave the government to do something about it. We should start putting our heads together and come up with a solution.
We all have different opinions. It's normal. It's what makes us human. But let's get rid of that difference and focus on our passion, which I feel we all have in common, conserving wildlife or pretty much trying to save the planet.
But this argument right here is a good sign. This actually means we all want to tend to this problem. It's a healthy debateGood on ya!

Good on ya!
