BTW its not just hardships who makes a person turn their belief in god. Most of the non-believers seeked the truth thats why they have come to a conclusion that there is no god just like our national hero Jose Rizal.
dont mistake rizal to be atheist. he believes in god and since he's a freemason, he had a different concept of the supreme being.

    Rizal's Religious Philosophy

Rizal grew up nurtured by a closely-knit
Catholic family, was educated in the foremost Catholic schools of the period in
the elementary, secondary and college levels; logically, therefore, he should
have been a propagator of strictly Catholic traditions. However, in later life,
he developed a life philosophy of a different nature, a philosophy of a
different Catholic practice intermingled with the use of Truth and
    Reason.

    Why the change?

It could have been the result of contemporary contact, companionship, observation, research and the possession of an independent spirit.Being a critical observer, a profound thinker and a
zealous reformer, Rizal did not agree with the prevailing Christian propagation
of the Faith by fire and sword. This is shown in his Annotation of Morga’s
    Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas.

Rizal did not believe in the Catholic dogma that salvation was only for Catholics and that outside Christianity,
salvation was not possible even if Catholics composed only a small minority of
the world’s religious groups. Nor did he believe in the Catholic observation of
fasting as a sacrifice, nor in the sale of such religious items as the cross,
medals, rosaries and the like in order to propagate the Faith and raise church
funds. He also lambasted the superstitious beliefs propagated by the priests in
the church and in the schools. All of these and a lot more are evidences of
    Rizal’s religious philosophy.

then that person needs to seek further, not seeking with pre concieved ideas...
Rizal's conclusion is His, and we are not to base ours with His...if so, would you consider Rizal to be more logical than Einstein?
'cause Rizal may be our national Hero and i have so much respect for him but He was not able to make atomic bombs, known in almost in the einter planet to be a genius...einstein however was...yet He believed in God.
wanna know why the philippines still poor?even though daghan religious nga mga tao....
because a person may be religious but doesn't have Love in him...being religious should be the result of our faith in God
and religion is just a denomination, it's the relationship with Jesus that counts...
unsaon man nang cge kag cmba but cge pud kag pangurakot...
so yes philippines is a religous country but that's not enough..

and yes hardship is Not the ONLY reason why people mostly turn their backs on God...
but sadly it is one of the reasons...if not, then why do we hear a lot of people blaming God for
    life's hardships?

and most all in Rizal's time grabeh ka discouraging ang church ato..mga abusado nga prayle...
no wonder rizal would think such..but that doesnt prove that God brought evil...people with evil minds
brought those things...and God gets the blame..im not sure of unsay gipang sibya sa mga pari sa unang panahon..
but mga abusado nga tao sa simbahan usa pud nas mga rason nganu maka ingun ang tao nga way Ginoo...again...
it's not God who is abusing...it's the people...and what is God doing about it? they have already been paid in full...if justice is not
given by our earthly rulers..justice will surely be served by our supreme Ruler in the hereafter.

if Jesus Christ discloses the life of the samaritan woman at the well, raised lazarus from the dead, heals different kinds of sickness, performed miracles that even forces of nature obeys him, do you think he don't have the power to destroy his perpetrators?

Why he allowed them to crucify him? because of so great love that he wanted to save the people from their sins.

You cannot understand the depths of it unless you have experienced true love with your spouse or someone so dear to you. Kung andam ka magpakamatay para sa imong hinigugma nga nagkaila lang mo nga dagko na how much of our Father nga sya mismo ang nagbuhat ug nagsustain sa atong kinabuhi?

we are all like Judas in some ways,JEsus predicted that Judas would betray Him...even before Judas knew that He was to betray Jesus...Jesus spoke of His death as the final atonement of our sins..
its not Judas who made Jesus death happen..it was God's love for us..
because human is filled with all sort of sinfulness that it required the most precious blood for us to escape the eternal death..
Peter denied Jesus publicly 3 times, which i could say that is more shameful than what Judas did...at least Judas betrayed Him in a discreet manner...but why Peter was saved, because He repented, Judas killed Himself...and we do not even know if Judas rwent straight to Hell...only God knows though.

yes thats true noy. and only if rizal knew the truth in the bible and not just sa iyang nakita or nadungog sa mga abusive church leaders, dili tingali in ato iyang padulngan. magpdayon tingali sya being a catholic but with a reformed spirit.
