Any politician can resign his post ..... But it takes a statesman to admit his wrongdoing.

I'm biased because Koko Pimentel was my prof (2 subjs), but this move of Zubiri's only shows how much balls he has (or does not have). Resigning ONLY NOW, because the shit is about to hit the fan, and with less than 2 years left on his term? And we're supposed to fall for the waterworks display he put on in his resignation speech? Give me a break.

In fairness to the guy, I'd rather have him in the Senate than Panday, Lito Lapid, or Tito Sotto. But the fact that he did a fairly good job as a Senator does not change or justify the fact that he did in fact benefit and had knowledge of the cheating that went on in 2007. There was cheating in Maguindanao with the help of the Ampatuans, and he knew it.

just to clear his name, better to resign. he will gain popularity of the masses.

it's not the end of his career. let him run again against koko. let us say who will win.

It's not about whose popular in Bukidnon or Cagayan. The issue is about the Maguindanao election fraud. Zubiri wants to make a graceful exit unlike what Angelo Reyes who commit suicide to protect his name or shall we say GMA's name.

sorry, if you decode my post. it means i like zubiri and not pimentel . im also from northern mindanao just like them. and actually politics comes with popularity, you can never win if your not popular to the masses-just my two cents

regarding angelo reyes. he was not a senator but a department head namely department of energy. and he was not really a politician, he was a military carriers man. zubiri family was always in politics. different lifestyle different ways to handle stressful situation. while politicians will save there names, military men will save their honor(plus they tend to more suicidal during stressful situations).

ni resign na. move on. imbestigahan gihapon kung naay involvement sa dayaan. dili pasabot nga ni resign, wala nanikas. he wanted to win the sympathy of the masses, he wanted to be the " good guy ", the underdog. inig 2013 puhon, mo daug na jud sya ug klaro.
