HELP! My external 160gb IDE HDD not detected

I'm back to square one, again... My computer's not reading my IDE HDD again. It's because i lost that bloody little jumper, that tiny black plastic on the backside of my IDE HDD.

Do you mates here have any idea where i can find one or buy one?

And can i just solder these 1st two pins together, so i don't have to use those tiny bloody jumpers anymore?
I'm only using this as an external HDD, set to master position..

have u tried sa mga pc stores? try sa mga surplus pc shops, pa tan-aw tan-aw lang sa hd then kuhaa ang plastic hehehehehhe

actually na solve na na nya ang problem. karong lain na pud problem dli ka format iyang HD

Didn't work sir. Keeps saying " -/ invalid parameter".
What should i do now??

Maybe you put "X:" that's why it says "-/invalid parameter"?

the X: there represents for your drive...if it's drive D: replace X: with "D:"

Problem solved..
All i did was detached the circuit-board of the HDD from the HDD shell. Cleaned the dust, hair, minute webs & ant bodyparts sticking on the circuitboard with a dry toothbrush and some contact cleaners. Screwed them back on, then i soldered together the two main pins that needs to be jumpered, plugged back the IDE/USB cable and format the HDD using Swissknife and then WinHIIP programs respectively.
