I think they still accept repair.

my uncle had a pentax SLR before but he got difficulty in servicing it for a certain problem. luckily my cousin, who was working in pentax manufacturing, offered freely to do the sorting-up "but" it was done in the house instead since they(pentax) didn't offer servicing.

maybe they are changing in the present though.

They do repair Pentax cameras (with valid serial numbers)... and it started years ago.
Not all models of Pentax cameras can be repaired though since it'll depend on the availability of parts.
Last time I check, they also provide camera cleaning... for a "small" fee.

for newbies: both cameras are very good. just choose which one is fitting to your budget. In photography, all that matters is the artist (photographer) behind every magnificent photos. If you go to an art gallery exhibiting photos, people and critics doesnt mind knowing what camera you used but Why you took that picture and how you took it artistically.

camera models come and go but the talent within you will keep getting better in time. If newbie paka, STUDY THE ART, NOT so much on THE GADGET.
