I've read all the ROBOTECH books from 1st gen's GENESIS...



...to the last chapter in END OF THE CIRCLE...



The only thing I wasn't able to read was the SENTINEL series (where the timeline of the story splits into the ROBOTECH 3rd gen and the SENTINELS: the SDF-3 crew made up of 1st and 2nd gen characters).Â* The storylines reunite with END OF THE CIRCLE.

What's nice about END OF THE CIRCLE is that there's a complete timeline in the back that helps you better understand the saga.

I have END OF THE CIRCLE somewhere in the house... but I'd like to get the other 17 books as well.

I don't know why but I suggest not to get the sentinel saga if you are of the show-produced person. alot of discrepancies of theories, ideas and in-betweeners but I finished the novel so If ever I get to watch that sentinel odyssey, I could relate a little.

er, actually Macross was the ship a.k.a the SDF-1 after being refurbished and fitted for human habitation. Macross Island was named after the ship

Mabix, in ROBOTECH the alien ship was eventually renamed not Macross but simply SDF-1
the city called Macross City, which grew around the crashed alien ship during its rebuilding, was named after the island in the South Pacific were it was founded on (MACROSS ISLAND).

however in the jap tv series macross, SDF-1 was originally named ASS-1 (alien space ship 1) only much later were it was renamed SDF-1 Macross.
the haul was marked/designated "SDF-01" and named MACROSS.
how they came up with Macross...kapoy explain kay mga hapon man gud hehehe!
HOWEVER the island is called South Ataria Island. the island never took the name of the ship
but the city was named after the ship in the jap tv series...so you got the facts mixed up a bit

basta my point in my previous post is that Robotech is a combination of 3 diffent (unrelated) jap tv series made to one ROBOTECH saga.
stories (even some of the animation) were modified to fit into one 3 generation span series...even the characters and names were altered a bit as well.
It was not mearly a change of title from Macross to Robotech.

whats Sentinels Odyssey?

as far as i know...
The Sentinels is Robotech II (only the pilot episodes were made...i think 3 ra...series was canceled)
and The Odyssey is Robotech III (which was never developend...although ideas from the Odyssey are worked into the book "end of the circle" kaya the tv series and the novel has some differences the novels were 1st printed in 1987...tv series was in 1985.

The Odyssey is set from a story that would end where the 1st generation would start.

BTW, we are talking about TV's & Movies here not books/novels so im basing my post of the Tv Series and Movies

i also tried to look for my copy...
only found battlehymn, force of arms, doomsday and symphony of light...
the rest of my complete robotech novels are missing waaah!

Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles was 1st shown in full last may 22 daw in a private screening...
can't wait for this to be finally released to us the rest of the world!

I was actually referring to the actual timeline of things in robotech. the sentinels odyssey/expedition (if based on the core continuity) happened somewhere in between macross saga(not masters) and continued til new gen. my bad.

yep, the novels(13-17) were not really meant to be compared. thats why I suggested that the show-produced people should not get it since the novels would really confuse you on some parts. anyway, the novel despite its detailed events and funded by the show producers, was set back and was rested by the producers themselves and thought of considering it as fan-based.

well, afaik in the show, Breetai & Zor did refer SDF-1 as Macross. inconsistencies/script typo? I betcha

well, they did try releasing it sa US market but it failed to get a decent review...i think (if my memory serves me right) they had a test broadcast of the pilot in texas but was never aired in other places in the states due to bad reviews.which makes getting a copy of the cancelled series very hard. i never seen the complete pilot man gani hehe...just bits of it...

yep wasn't totally macek's fault but he still calls the shots together with the moola-providers though.

Maayo sab ang Yamato(shown on abc13) kay serious pud ang story. Mao ni katong boat ang porma sa ilang spaceship unya ang ilang weapon kay i charge pa gani before makatira pero once nga motira na maka destroy ang ilang weapon even an entire planet. Its nice kay ang ilang warfare murag parehas sa mga Navy.

the yamato i remember is a battle ship (a real one) down in history pag world war II hehe.

katong motorbike (called cyclones) are only seen in 3rd generation sila rand and lance...
its actually a personal armor...a bike that can transform into a battloid man size mecha thats as powerful as the original veritech but super small and light weight thats it can be folded down to fit the storage of an alpha fighter. some call this the veritech riding armour

I hope someone here remember this I don't know kung starblazer man siguro ni sa pinas. There is some similarity with this and the Macross Saga naa uyab2x naa say mga sacrifices made.
