Nicely written, well described. I can't believe why Pentium D failed to activate Thermal Protection during temperature throlling when P4's had implemented this well. I just hope this was an isolated case, really bad for the customers.

yes its the cheapest dual core. its intel clocks @ 2.66ghz but overclocks like crazy.

if you can raise that budget of yours higher, you might end up with my setup.
will be disposing this setup next month, might interest you though.

hmmnn.. that depends on how you define a "fan" is.
having both amd and intel wouldnt make me fit be called a fan to one or to have an affinity to one.
its about what serves it purpose.
its like if you say "guilliam youre a 2mb dsl connection fan" though 768kbps can serve its purpose for others, simply on my preference it cannot. so its about personal preference and what serves it purpose.

why i prefer intel on some applications and why i prefer amd on some apps is a different and looong story

im "assuming" here. im using he same mobo and same proc family(smithfield) on one rig.
what i assume is that he might have turned the "cpu thermal control" in the mobo's bios to "off". since on a p5wd2 premium you can opt to turn it on or off.

on my personal usage, i actually have turned it off or disabled it since if its turned on its unlikely to get a higher OC and it becomes very unstable on stability tests(dual prime, s&n, etc) and even on regular use of heavy apps. i can see that 2nd core throttles even to 2.0ghz(proc is oc'ed to 3.8ghz). at any rate, no worries for me; thats the reason also i steer away from liquid cooling bec of this maintenance issues(constantly checking for liquid sys to perform at par).

plus 5.3k 1 gig of geil rams ddr2 533mhz

so thats Php16,800 lang may money ka pa na pambili ng low PCI-E

By the way bro why are you disposing your setup? Seems a nice rig... Been eying 805 for my first Intel build but seems I have no budget for upgrades for the moment. Do you think the price will cascade for the coming month for this processor? Thanks
