I am praying a pardon won't happen. If ever mahitabo jud na- panagang lang na ni GMA para she'll also get a pardon when it's her turn.
I am also still hoping ma priso si Erap sa Munti and mag tapad sila ug celda ni Mike Arroyo and company ! lol

Personally, I am not for the grant of pardon to Erap. This I think will be a political decision, not the ones decided by the courts of justice.

As per the news today, Erap says he will be accepting pardon. I just don't really know who started this pardon campaign. I'd like to think Erap wanted to nurse his wounded pride by saying that he will be pardoned by this government. But then, a pardon will not mean he is not guilty of the crime adjudged to him. After all, he cannot be pardoned if he is not convicted of the crime.

Puno: Estrada could get to keep P1B of ill-gotten assets

AN ABSOLUTE pardon means the government will no longer confiscate P1 billion in ill-gained assets that deposed President Joseph Estrada had allegedly acquired and that the Sandiganbayan wants forfeited in favor of the state.

This was how Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno interpreted the proposed unconditional pardon that he and Estrada are expected to discuss when they meet over lunch Tuesday at the latter's rest house in Tanay, Rizal.

The alleged ill-gotten assets would include the notorious "Boracay Mansion" in Quezon City.

The Tanay meeting between Estrada and his own former interior secretary is taking place amid sharp opposition from some legal luminaries, who said an unconditional pardon would be blow to the justice system.

Some said Estrada should be given an absolute pardon only if he expresses remorse for his sins and surrenders his supposedly ill-gotten assets.

"Absolute pardon is absolute pardon. I think the penalties are vacated," Puno said when asked about the Sandiganbayan's forfeiture order on Estrada's assets.

Comment lang ko. I felt stupid kon i pardon c erap bisan dili mangayo pasaylo, naa pa condisyon mo dawat kuno cya sa pardon basta dili na magpasabot sad-an siya.!! It appears sa ako lang paminaw namugos ang gobiyerno pasayloon c erap.. Only in the Philippines. In my opinion maayo gyud unta iad2 na sa blibid prison, Muntinglupa para klaro nga gipriso!! kay kanang pag detain niya karon ingnon man dayon sa resthouse sa tanay.. Notice ko dili gyod mogamit ug term detention cell nga word ang Media.

The possible pardon is a personal prerogative of the president. Although I don't personally adhere to it, it seems the Erap camp is adamant to pursue the pardon. Although they want to make it look like that it is this administration pursuing such plans, I'd like to think it is otherwise.

It seems the president will be making a difficult decision again, if ever Erap is pardoned. This does not mean that Erap is innocent, though, however he wants to say such whimsical notion.
