^ Agree with you on that short memory. Many people nowadays don't recall why Erap was removed from position on the first place and are being swayed by the media portraying him as the "poor, deposed president wronged". The verdict given definitely shows that the wheels of justice is turning, and it should go as a warning to all government officials that they aren't exempted from the law.

For now, Erap is allowed to stay in his Tanay resthouse, but I suppose that may change in the near future.

Guilty but not yet final and executory since defense lawyers will appeal to the Supreme Court and it will take years n years for the high tribunal to render a decision..

of kors mo appeal jud na sila! aron madugay ug samot ang pag serve sa life sentence.
kay while ga appeal sila, erap will have a cozy, close-to-free life sa resthouse! it takes another years to hear his appeal. and while ga hearing na sad, hay, si erap, mag golf, mag party sa iyang birthday etc...
    bwisit jud ni erap!

Asus.. all politicians if not all majority of them they are corrupt.. hehehe all shoudl be sent to the court for trial and sent to jail ang proven guilty and the justices should also be independent and not appointed by the govt.

Erap is given his day in court to prove that he's not guilty but to no avail. The alleged corrupt practices of the ousted president are proven in court.

I guess it's perfectly alright if the allegations to other officials will be sent to court. Resorting to media and other publicities makes me wonder why they cannot bring the matter to court. After all, if there is really basis for such, they can prove it to settle the controversy. Otherwise, it will all be hearsay.

Right, it is disappointing that the people have forgotten the reasons why Erap was subjected to an impeachment trial and then was eventually ousted. See, some of the supporters were angry with the decision that he was guilty because they thought Erap's crime was just having several mistresses. They forgot about the jueteng payola, the commissions he received from the sale of the Belle shares, his midnight partying with his gambling friends in Malacanang. Those are the facts that led to his ouster.

We are glad that Erap was found guilty. I want to laugh out loud on Loi Ejercito's angry face for saying that no public funds were used by Erap. Ignorance of the law excuses no one, not even this former Senator who seems to be equally stupid as her husband. Plunder does not necessarily involve public funds! It's ammassing of ill-gotten wealth through a series of illegal acts! And besides, everybody is aware that Erap gives millions to his kumpares in order for them to be able to gamble at Vegas.
