im going for AMD 2500+ Barton... naa bay AMD 3200+ Barton? i want something higher so that I can use it longer in the long run... IMO...

at leat Celeron is better than P4 1.8... heard that P4 below 2Ghz is sh!T... lol

anyways, i plan to get AMD and get lots of fans, a good heatsink and a casing with lots-o-holes LOL

what celeron is better than the p4 1.8? ive read like naay batch sa 1.8 that goes over 3ghz with the proper cooling. that 1.8 is 2nd to the 1.6 w/c is the most OC-able p4 daw. at least...it can go more than twice its boxed clockspeed.

ive to read pa the specs for procs going more than 1ghz kay outdated nako ani nga mga topics....so disregard na lang if outdated akong post... lol

Depende sa kwarta mga bro... naa bya pud kusog ssa Intel procs. pero based on my experience, daghan na gyud naguba AMD procs. ngano man? kay dili man kabalo unsaon pagpa bugnaw ug unsay paliton, mga TT, Volcano sapana dha hehe.. AMD or INTEL?Its not about the money, its about making the right choice, its a question of PERFORMANCE, not resell values.

IMHO, intel cpus are marketed towards the uninformed users and that is why their resale value doesnt depreciate that much, everyone(nontechnical users) just wants to get their hands on a p4 system. intels marketing strategy is definitely better than AMDs.not to mention the jargons they use,streaming SIMD extensions, matrix multiplication(MMX), quadpumped something, hyperthreading,superscalar architecrure, so on and so forth.of course, everybodyy would want to have these featured on their cpus.

now back to the topic:
AMD athlon XPs are better than intel pentium4s...

different apps are faster on either system. There are applications designed for intel proc, and apps for AMD proc. We can't really compare unless we get our hands on both systems side by side for comparison. By then you should get the processor for your kind of work and apps in use.

FYI, intel's hyperthreading also depends on the software you are running. Not all programs are faster with the hyper threading enabled, sometimes it's better for it be turned off.
