when you are in another country, you tend to be more nationalistic jud.. kabantay jud ko ana!
before, when i was still in cebu, i never watched local shows and movies and i didn't like OPM songs.. but when i came here in the US, as in tan-aw na jud kaayo og teleseryes (maski OA usahay) and variety shows (no matter how silly they are) and cge na paminaw OPM songs... hehe.. i guess it's really true that you don't know what you've got til it's gone...

We really need a change in our governing system, one that does not tolerate even minor infractions of the law (like Singapore's). Our current system is too centralized, highly dependent on the capital city of Manila. That's why corruption is also centralized. We should adopt a parliamentary federal system so that all provinces which on it's own have a unique culture/customs/traditions/strengths & talents of the locals can plot it's own course of development on a level playing field with the other developed areas. That way curbing corruption in government will be done locally, & one province's progress doesn't have to be dictated by the level of support/budget allocation it gets from Manila, but by it's own local leaders & other resources inherent to the said area. We also need a MAJOR change in our attitudes, since most of us keep producing offspring but are not responsible enough to raise them the best way possible. We should stop blaming the government for all our problems & instead look at the mirror, since we are the ones who placed ourselves in this current predicament. If all of us vote WISELY , then we probably wouldn't be in such a mess as a country nowadays(although there are far worse situations). If this goes on, WE FILIPINOS WILL NEVER PROSPER AS A NATION, ONLY AS INDIVIDUALS.

Optimism and discipline would be the attributes that all Filipinos should have. Though the philippine government can be blamed for the prevalent corruption,it is not the sole factor why the Philippines is lagged behind by other nations. If we only think that Filipinos can do what other nationalities have done to their countries, then we can also enjoy economic progress. There is no perfect form of government.

Poverty is a choice. Other people live in poverty because they choose to. You can escape poverty if you strive hard, work hard and work smart.

The sign of process can be realized by one person, then that person can be emulated by others. It is like Domino effect without the Talangka Mentality.

Education is one of the primary factors for economic development. Living with good virtues can lead to more progress. If only some politicians apply the right virtues, be scrupulous and conscientious, then there would be no corrupt officials.

Philippines is progressing at a good pace. It would take time to become a First World Country. As long as the Philippines is ruled by a leader that has an agenda for economic development, the country can move from a transitional, newly-industrialized economy to a developed one in the near indefinite future.

I will stay informed so that if I am asked to make a stand, I can choose the lesser evil.

I will always remind myself that as I consumer, my purchasing power is as important as a political vote.

I will continue to be nice to Mother Earth.

I will support the government on their positive programs.

I will not whine/complain on a national issue without reviewing the facts first.
