We cant blame all the traffic in that area sa jeepney(except sa nga baglungon), what i noticed for the past 15 years in banilad area, nidaghan ug kalit ang private cars because daghan na sad subdivisions in banilad and talamban and establishment in banilad,..now a days we have more car with same road, we need wider road or alternate route

daghan na gyud private cars..then also, abundant napud ang mga jeepney's plying around that area due to the large number of people living in talamban, pit-os and bacayan area..

on my part pud, i take an alternate road. i take A.S Fortuna street the left to Hernan Cortez road then on the M.L Quezon Ave. then exit at cabangcalan on to talamban area...sometimes i take the Remedio St. on to ML Quezon Ave..

apil lang ko gamay ani, bro as you could see naa nay gi butang buses sa south plying mingla - sm a lot of commuters would wait for them since they not only cost less but also they feel fresh arriving to the city rather riding on a jeepney's. so like what others said jeepney is more on a hastle than a cure to morning rush hour. imagine if this buses has double decks how many people can benefit the ride? but of course this one too should have a regulated and designated bus stop rather than stopping anywhere else.

also, maybe you guys noticed on more road parking labi na sa mga highways nga imbes 3 lanes unta ni gamay nalang nuon? plus the public who just crossed whenever they like. i believe we need better transport system than building more flyovers.

as most people benefit ron while using the SRP but soon when building will rise there surely we would see again parking along the highways, as i could notice now nig gabii from inayawan to pooc people starting to park there vehicles at side ways.
highways should never be used as parking area coz no matter how wide it is, it will never be to wide enough when it's being used as parking area.

    just my side...

for now, strict implementation of the CITOM might be the best (at least for now). kanang mga private cars nga nagparking sa kilid sa dalan, ipangclamp then kanang mga PUJs and taxis nga pataka lang ug hunong, dakpon unta. iapil na pud nato nang mga pedestrians labi na sa cpuntry mall dapit. naay skywalk, sa dalan gihapon mangagi.

Sometimes, sa country mall kay buhaton ug terminal ang jeepney stop. Ang tendency hinuon kay ang dalan mahimo hinuon ug 1 lane.

Wala jud road courtesy both the pedestrian and the drivers. Ang mga pedestrians bisag naay skywalk, mo labang sa dalan na naa pay nakabutang na "No JayWalking".

Yes indeed. The guy who prepared this study worked in the US for 5 years and is a stanford graduate mastering in highway engineering. He said that the situation in the US is very different compared here. In the US, the politicians in the do not get involved with infrastructure developments, they leave this job to a their respective city development bureau which have engineers to scientifically study the traffic. Politicians only supply the funding. Here in the philippines the politicians calls the shots without even consulting a specialist or even study the root cause of the traffic. I just would like to add further that here in cebu, or in the philippines for that matter, we lack effort in urban planning our city... we have to put up new roads new road networks to cope up with development unfortunately, the roads that we have today is just the same road we found 10-20 years ago and that is why we suffer today. Adding a flyover will simply transfer the traffic from one intersection to another!!

I totally agree with you. Parking on the highway will also pose a significant safely hazard since vehicles are traveling at high speeds. Parking on the highway will only endanger the life of motorists. Further more I would like to cite and example in mandaue, Quezon avenue (the one where holy family parish is fronting), its a 6 lane road. Since side parking is allowed there plus the presence of a lot of tricycles, the effective road is only 2 lanes. It also do not have a center line which makes it all the more dangerous.
