TS, can you possible post here a photo of the box? and the video card itself?
What I know, after new models being released especially the video card is 2 generations down. Manufacturers will make a cheap version of a certain model to be able to sell for the masses. Palit or Inno3d (not sure which one), they have this GREEN versions, which are sold cheaper than the regular ones and of course just like what you've seen in your HD5570, lower specs. The video card itself will be smaller, the heatsink and fan too. Even their packaging will look cheaper. A lot smaller compared to regular / reference design version.
Currently AMD is in their HD 7xxx series. So HD 5570 is considered super-low end. Though the cheapest available now is HD5450, which is just a few hundreds (pesos) lower. Basically, 98% of the buyers of this kind of video cards are not real gamers, enthusiast or somehow choosy on hardware. They just want a video card, so in short... specs don't matter. As long as it has it has the HD5500 series chip and a 1GB memory. To add, around maybe 70% of video card buyers don't even care of the video card's GPU. When go to the store and inquire, this is the most famous line... "Naa mo bedyow card? kanang 1 geg... kay paspas." (Do you have video cards? I want it to have 1Gig, coz its faster)

@CrashBURN - im no genius in this thing sir, but we do hear from "experts" that say go for hd5570 for performance with lower price..and yes, i've observed that the "2nd wave" of cards are chepear for almost 500php..the problem is,and what i think the TS is wondering, why wasnt it labeled in the box nor did the sales personnel from stores say that "these" hd5570s are different from the previous 5570s, different in a bad way that is..
but ohh well, lesson learned..
I can't say more for now, I need to see the box... hehehe... Sales people know nothing about this.
Performance at lower price = this is subjective.
Just browsed thru the photos, I saw the box. You guys are right, nothing is mentioned about a low-power/cut-down version. I actually sold plenty of these. Nobody cared actually... I'll try to ask my supplier about this.
wheeeww..pasalamat jud ko kabasa koani nga thread... mupalit na jud ranba unta ko ani and i'm 100% sure that it is from the same seller kay kita ko nag post ka didto TS.. anyways basa2x sa siguro ko..

Sir i try daw og stress test ang GPU using video stress test software, kay on my HD5850 if naka idle ra ang system kay lower ang bandwidth, clock speed, memory clock, and etc... also the PCI-E x16 mo drop sa x4 and ako gi stress test ang video card nibalik na sa correct clocks and bandwidth niya. Naka notice ko ani sa new driver update sa AMD katong 12.3 man siguro to.
Btw, i will make GPU-Z screenshots sa ako units na naka HD5550 and HD5570 later this week para ma compare nato and also the box nalang pud.
hello guys sorry na busy ko for the past few days and nag out of town sad ko gikan. anyways, on to the topic.. i really have strong suspicions in this nga "hocus pocus" na pud ni sa mga manufacturers. if official pa ni nga release nila, this would have been announced or at least be listed on their product listing. so far up until now, based on Sapphiretech website WALA gyud HD5570 sa product listing nila that entails the specs seen on this card. ang naa sa ila list nga HD5570 has the specs of the REAL HD5570 that was officially announced and introduced to the market.
nindot kaayo ug performance and feedbacks ang REAL HD5570 for a low profile video card. and my guess is that some manufacturers like Sapphire for one is taking advantage ani para mahalin to ilang way nahot nga video card nga pareha2x ra sa REAL HD5570.
@Jason4ever
that is normal sir. that's the technology being used today to prolong the life-span of the product and to be specific ang GPU mismo and the memory modules nga naa sa video card. same technology is applied to the motherboard-processor-ram relationship. without this technology like Power Management for one, damage due to overheating is likely to happen with less than a year of usage. "heat" gyud ang number one mka guba sa hardware parts sa computer.
Actual pictures of the Sapphire Radeon HD5570 video card that i have:
perti ra gyd layo-a sa porma as what Sapphiretech website shows for their HD5570.
