2. www.cebucybermoto.com
3. e.1asphost.com/crabmet/
of course, an award-winning site should have more than just good design. i think design itself comprises only 30% of the total score for most web awards.
yup. but the tecnical part can just be standardized. any programmer can handle that. the design / graphics tells how good a webdesigner is. there are no standards here, no limits.Originally Posted by oon

The result was published in todays Sun Star edition June 30. You can also view it online at

i'm not sure about that... the creativity and talent of the systems guy is also important in delivering smooth navigation, quality presentation, unique features, etc. it's not something anyone can do.Originally Posted by riko diko
plus, aside from the technical work, there is the issue of content. you can have a website where the design is not spectacular, but it is fantastically useful, and it deserves an award. for example, google. the design of all google features (except arguably the minimalist search page) is crap, yet google still win awards for their revolutionary technology and services. look at google news: the design is atrocious, but it's still fantastic.
in cebu we have www.belmonttools.com who have a really useful site even tho the design is average. who would think cebu has a tool shop with the entire inventory of thousands of products online? [i'm not affiliated with belmont in any way]. istorya.net, too, doesn't have much in the way of design, but they built cebu's only real online community, and deserve an award for that.
while design is perhaps the most visible facet of the web and the aspect that drove the popularity of the internet to where it is now, it should not be the only element that counts when awarding web awards. in fact, more and more, these days "web designers" are being referred to as "web developers".
looking at my last post, i guess it's pretty obvious i'm a programmer not a designer![]()
oh.. really....![]()
hehe... are you? i am neither of the two, but i enjoy the art/creativity in almost anything, especially when new technology is taken advantage of.Originally Posted by oon
