Obviously the author of this article work from a call center, and he himself undergone with such experience. Its not about gidaut ra ang call center industry...its about sharing unsa iyang mga na experience working in a call center. wla siya'y gidaot or referring that call center is a bad industry. its a personal experience he wants to share and its a fact.

I'm very happy more than a year since I wrote the article there are still people interested in the topic, although I would wish our website Asteeeg.com (haven't been updated, except for feeds, in months) would be credited more often. The articles are here:
purevoid | Asteeeg! Beyond traditional careers and conventional lifestyle

I do appreciate the comments even from those not so pleased and I understand that it's not easy to just quit any job and again I am not really against call centers. And really, don't ever quit any job until you have a well-thought out backup plan.

I also understand the feeling of being "stuck" while saving up for a business. But it is crucial to have written concrete action steps and measurable target dates and finances. If not you will find your self just dreaming of that "perfect time" ... Because there are so many things you can already do right now while saving: things like talking to potential mentors, taking note of other opportunities, and testing (not just planning) your business ideas. Do not procrastinate.

What I also hope for is more young people to start thinking hard of the broader picture (not just their call center work) and many personal issues which are in the end, global issues:

    - Actually pursuing personal dreams versus the cycle of working to have enough money to survive and a little fun. Having great experiences versus purchasing nice things.
    - In relation, having more patience and courage to look years ahead in your life and the decisions you make now.
    - And why does Kiyosaki say (paraphrased) pursuing financial security will get you farther from financial freedom?
    - What's underneath globalization and outsourcing or when do they get out of control for Philippines and other developing countries.
    - And the lighter side: There are so many other options in this exciting era of Information Age. For example being a virtual assistant in your own time, affiliate marketing, freelance writing etc. Most of which if done properly can earn a lot more than call centers without the health concerns (Google 15 year old pinoy Carl Ocab and Jozzua).

For further reading on such things:
Confessions of an Economic Hitman (John Perkins)
    4HWW (Tim Ferriss)
    Power of Less (Leo Babauta)

Waking up one day full of regrets and asking yourself where the years went by is surely worse than death. I know I get that fear often and just try to learn every day.

So stay focused, strategic and spend lots of time with people (or pets) who make you happy.

    Thanks,
    purevoid
