like u said, ur 6600GT chokes on FEAR, what more can a radeon 9200se do? i did not open this thread for purpose of comparing this card to the latest vga card out there, like the 6600GT, cause it will not even come close to that.

i am simply stating that i have managed to use programmable anti-aliasing set at 4x with smoothvision properties set at 3x, d3d and ogl.

there are lots of istoryans out there that owns this type of card, or maybe something like this card, or maybe a better one. i just want to share that using 3rd party drivers, a lot of options could be played with and tested.

    Recommended System Specs for F.E.A.R.:
Pentium IV 3ghz, 1GB of RAM, Geforce 6600 or Radeon 9800pro Direct X9 compliant graphics card, 5.0GB Hard drive space, Direct X9 compliant Sound Card, Windows X64, XP or 2000.

but of course, needless to say, my system specs dont come any close to this specs given by guru3d.com, and so, i could safely conclude that running FEAR on my pc is impossible.

do not ever rely on benchmarking softwares, instead, rely on what u see on ur screen when ur playing ur game, rely on ur eyes to feel the textures and clarity of the game ur playing.

if ur not satisfied with 3rd party drivers like omega, then go for DNA driver. anyways, 3dmark results will really vary depending on how u tweaked ur card.

for me, benchmarks are not the thing that distinguishes whats fast and not. if u have a specs of only 256mb and u have a high end card like 6600GT, the results will differ compared to a 6600GT installed on a system with 1gb of memory.

also, the framerates and scores u get will really depend on ur overall system setup. ur mem, ur cpu, even ur psu. if u cannot supply ample and constant power to ur card and other components, the results u get are not to be taken seriously.

also, the problem with some of us is that we seriously compare our system specs to others. what if we cant get 20000fps, or 100000000000000fps? the most important thing in gaming is enjoyment. we can never compare 2 customed pc. something will always differ.

FEAR kay dako jud na og requirements. maybe di nani makaya. mora daghan najud na freeze.

    ang latest quake kaha?
    whats ur card model?

anyways, u have to uninstall the ATI catalyst before installing any third party vga driver. go to the ATI website and download the catalyst uninstaller, then run it to remove ATI related softwares in ur system. only then it will be safe to install omega driver.

about gaming, i havent tried the latest quake yet, but i intend to when my new mem arrives. just try it for yourself, just be mindful of the requirements cuz the results u get will greatly depend on that.

yup, i use 4x AA sa NFSMW na profile i created using ATI Tray Tool. daghang tweaks na pwede i-test using omega driver. first time pa gyud ko ka-experienced ng pixel shader feature sa akong vcard when i use this driver.

kadto sa game proper, wa na ko gi-set tong AA, sa game profile ra. i tested it several times if naay difference sa textures, using no AA and 4x AA. mas nindot tong naay 4x AA. dili man nako gihilabtan tong settings sa in-game, same ra gihapon, kadtong driver man ang nag-set.

free yang driver... just google omega driver.
AFAIK 9200 cant use the latest shader models.. ive seen how NFS:MW runs on a 9200se

maybe your 9200se is a quad core 1900XTX naka disguise =)

check the features na lang bro, dili man gud ko mamilit kung kinsay mutuo ingani. this product has long been discontinued by powercolor, and so goes my socket A. im still earning for my next rig, but for now, ill stay with this pc muna. this should be good news to those who owns discontinued radeon and nvidia based cards.

dude il tell you, ive been using Omega drivers since version 3.xx and i know what the omega drivers can do and cannot do, anywway this thread is so freaking funny and amazing.. ^__^

im also going to tell u again that results will vary depending on system specs. again, there no 2 same customed made pc, there will always be a different.

if u know what this driver can do, or have found out that u hate what it did, then just dont use it.

cards were made with specific properties. i could push anti-alias to 8x or 16x and use smoothvision up to 8x. i can cuz its a feature built on this card, but i didnt say that the anti-alias properties of this card, though at 8x, will equal any anti-alias output of high-end cards. they will always differ.

when i first install this card with the original driver cd, settings for anti-alias and anisotropic filtering are there. and why would they be there in the first place? simple, because it can be used, depending on system setup.
