As what most pc experts say that its always faster to get a higher FSB rather than higher mutipliers. And that what simply is beating up AMD.
Well wait till AMD releases a processor which equals to Intels 333mhz native FSB.

Its all marketing and business folks there is no technology involved here.
yeah according to some OCing guide... mas better ang tag-as of FSB nga processors... but real world test shows nga dili mo matter ang taas nga FSB... dili ang low FSB maoy reason sa slower performance sa intel... but the architecture itself... current intel processors are architecturally efficient compared to AMD processors. thats why they perform better. mao ra na... dili na siya about FSB and multipliers whatsoever...

Yeah but thats a big factor like comparing a 333mhz fsb with only 200mhz for AMD. thats why AMD is behind.
Architecturally better I think Intel is not architecturally superior they're just using brute force like higher cache and higher FSB. and a combination of superior Motheroards.
Intel hasn't even implemented the memory controller architecture on their penryns which is of course pioneered by AMD. Basically the only advantage of penryns are of course smaller die size which will accomodate more cache and the smaller the die size means less heat.

and do we think that AMD is forgetting the FSB race against Intel? I don't think so.

if you are comparing 333mhz FSB and 200mhz FSB with the same processor, and clock it to the same speed.... let say 333x8 = 2.6ghz and 200x13 = 2.6ghz... test results suggest that in real world applications, you would not get a significant gain in the 333FSB over the 200FSB. they perform about the same...

It might be interesting to find out to clock an AMD x2 to 266 or 333mhz fsb. Its worth experimenting.

Anybody there that can dare clock at least a 266x9 on an Athlon X2 to and post some super PI benchies?

Got an E6600 I will post some super PI benchies here. anybody dare to clock their x2s to 266x9 to compare it to an E6600? Just for the sake of experiment.

    sakto ka bro fish.

theres an article at THG where they overclock penryn to 4ghz using diff method.one of it is the fsb x multiplier

and the test result are not much to be reckoned with. 1333 compared to 1600

they said it does not matter.

of course your core2 would definitely perform better than X2... simply because core2 processors are better compared to x2's

    @circles:

    A microarchitecture comparison:

    AMD

    65nm
    IMC - Integrated Memory Controller
    HyperTransport
    Single Die (Quad-Core)

    Intel

    45nm
    MC via Northbridge
    FSB 1600
    Dual Die (Quad-Core)
