@epson
maypa maghuwat ig mahuman ug release ang duha ka procs...
para way mahay, if better ang AMD, then go for AMD , if not, go for Intel.
lisod gani i-decide ug palit ron, kay it's too early to determine the winner.
i am AMD!!!
AMD is still has the superior architecture.
We'll wait for new AMD processors that runs @ 266 to 333 fsbs stock speeds as what intels are using.
yup, but AMD is slowly crumbling down... here, another VP from AMD resigns. This is the real killer.Originally Posted by brown_dog

But it is wrong to say that AMD STILL has the superior architecture, for a fact, it could not even come close to
Core2, let me quote maximum PC:
"We aren’t kidding. When we were still debating our CPU pick for the DreamMachine, we fired up the C2E with thesame videocard, hard drive, and driversthat we used last month to benchmarkAMD’s AM2. The result? The C2E posted an unheard of 32 to 70 percent performance increase on CPU-bound tests. Let’ssay that again: 70 percent! In other words, this suckah is so fast, it should have itsown theme song and an entourage that will push you to the curb if you get too close to its black C2E-style Escalade.
The CPU wars haven’t seen this kind of all-out ass-kicking in the last decade. The original Athlon 64 FX-51 was fast when it launched, but it didn’t put the hurt on Pentium 4 like this.
The C2D is also able to process a single 128-bit SSE instruction in one cycle, whereas the Athlon 64 and Pentium 4 take two.
This chip truly makes everything that came before—be it Athlon or Pentium—seem sluggish."
To note: This machine killed an overcloked Athlon FX-60 with the same specs!!! by a huge margin...
We just have to wait until Barcelona is released, hapit na bitaw, if superior ba jud siya in terms of performance.agree?
pasabot niya ato bro... interms of architecture, mas nindot, mas complex ang architecture sa AMD... naay built-in memory controller. in fact, intel is planning to put the memory controller built-in sa processor in their nahelem processors.
Yup, I get your point.
But let us define what superiority in architecture is:
AMD's architecture is superb. I agree on that. The IMC idea was cool and all (praises for AMD). But, we can't determine superiority by how things were made. For example, you can't just say that the house is well built, because it looks nice and has a lot of nice features, you can really say If its well built if it can outlast tests of nature(bagyo, earthquake...blah...).
In fact, I don't think that Conroe/Kentsfield would need an IMC right now(although they're planning to put it in nahelem). AMD’s AM2 processor is far from slow, but compared to the new ‘Core’ architecture it looks like AMD will have to go back to drawing board because the DDR2 memory controller doesn’t bring much to the Athlon’s performance plate. To sum up, if I had to put together a performance machine now, I’d buy Conroe, no questions asked.
I can't wait to see how Barcelona plays. I really do. AMD architecture has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, I can't rate potential as performance/superiority.
(I sound like the devil's advocate.But Im not...
)
intel will have this also. as the ruling judge had stated during AMD vs Intel...re : X86 extension..development..sharing ra ni.. waybayaray..Originally Posted by [DSX
