Cebu City 1st District Rep. Rachel Marguerite del Mar said the tunnel will link Cebu City to Lapu-Lapu City and ease traffic congestion, which has been a result of the expansion of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
Didn't Cebu City has 2 bridges already? If they want to ease up the traffic... widen the roads... eminent domain if possible. I came home last month and the place is just too crowded plus self-built houses are close to the streets. Asa naman tawn ang DPWH ani? My ex-bf used to work there as an engineer, quits because it's too much politics and red-tape.

All they need to do is widen the road/streets and impose more traffic rules. Akong cousin nag-drive namo padung Ayala unya ni overtake siya diha sa solid-yellow line. Diri pa na US, dakpan or dili ang mga tawo maoy mo impose sa rules.

Tunnels are basically an escape goat to get more money... we all know what will happen if that project get approved... dugay mahuman unya ang wa nay budget to complete the tunnel.

it was already proposed pero wa madayon coz asa man sad ibutang...naghuot na gani sa city butngan pa ug train samot.....metro manila ang gawas ani.....having an underwater passage does not take space on land so mas maayo siguro ni....but i do agree that road widening is better and having a color-coding scheme like in metro manila will work too to ease down the traffic....

this is just a proposal i think... similar to having a public rail transit (ala LRT o MRT) sa Cebu...
if madayon... cool... maytag majustify sa purpose ang magasto if ever...

pero mas mu-approve pa ko atong proposal nga maghimo ug mas advanced nga coliseum ang cebu... unsa nay balita ato?

okey sad tong ingon ni leo_trams, mura mag ipa-patent na ilang idea.
its a bit absurd that one would shoulder the expenses for the city's project... its like saying its impossible to build the tunnel..

the tunnel is for the benefit of the city unless it is owned by a person or a corporation then we should not pay for it via taxes.

it should be carefully planned if it is really the answer to the problem because if it is not the best answer then the people might think this project is just a passport for the corrupt officials to harvest more money.
