There's no true democracy in this nation. What we have is elitist in substance & form. Just look around you.

Why blamed the politicians when it is you who put them into office. The majority of the people in the country should be blamed for it.

I find this one forum quite funny. There was a forum here in istorya.net were members are asked to vote which past presidents they would vote for again. I don't know if my memory fails me but I believe there was a considerable 30% who voted for Ferdinand Marcos and another 20% for Joseph Estrada.

In another forum, people were arguing which of the past presidents that you have are the most corrupt. The same names popped out as number 1 and 2 along with Corazon Aquino, Fidel Ramos and Gloria Arroyo.

According to international records, the Philippines was able to produce 2 presidents amongst the top ten most corrupt leaders in the world. At number 2 is Ferdinand Marcos and at number 10 is Joseph Estrada. Despite their corruption records, you can tell from the previous survey that quite a number of people will still vote for these dishonored past presidents.

What can you make out from that?

My God, 80% hypocrisy, 20% Idiocy = shams of a Government whereby the government is a reflection of the governed. Cheers

[font=arial][b] There is nothing wrong with the system... its basically We the people who are not making the system work for the best of everybody.

Governments are made of people, by people... so, its just as flawed as people. Changing the system and its aspect is only a placebo.. change the people and maybe a democracy might work.

Might. I say might. The Philippines is not the only democracy in the world that has major problems. Democracy is a system but its not a perfect system.
