Why are call center agents paid better than others?

I am just wondering why call center agents paid better than teachers, pulis, military and engineers? while call center agents dont require college graduate and their work does not involved serious treat? i think they are just over hyped i mean over priced. my sentiment goes to the teachers who moulds these CC agents to write and speak excellent english. the pulis to protect these CC agents everytime they go home at night, the military to protect the interest of the country so that these CC agents still have their jobs to attend and the engineers who will help them in all the aspects of life from transportation to their homes. while these CC agents live happily seating in a coffee shop talking english to fellow Pinoy... its ironic, isn't it?

it's basically not the phil. gov't whose paying the cc agents, it's the american clients.. it's on a dollar basis, that explains it all...

dude,have you seen pila sweldo sa militarypila kita sa engrswala ra ka 1/4th ang sweldo sa CC agents.as far as i know,ang sweldo sa teachers karon is hapit na mag 20k specially in public (others are 20 nman gani).ang mga pulis,gi padak an na sad sweldo ana nila 3 years ago or something,competitive na sad na sila og salary.daun unsay wlay serious threat?kaw na gani ga mention ha nga gi protect ang agents og mga police,why?mao may targeton sige.and not to mention health threats,pila ka agents na nagka develop og hypertension og uban pa tungod sa work (not to mention the AIDS thing being talked nowadays,though,sala dyud na sa agent kung matugkan sila ana,hehehehehe).agents dont have easy jobs,they juz make it look easy coz theyre good at what they do.

sure ka ani noy? so military personnel are averaging 60-80k? are you still talking about the philippines? teachers with 20k/month? wow what a nice dream.
it is always a threat if call center agents will have more pay than other jobs. why?
1. students will not continue their studies. why? nganong motiwas pa man ug skwela when they can be a call center agents after their second year in college.
2. lesser number of people will go to other trades.
3. i don't believe that call centers help big time in the Philippines unemployment rate since most call center agents are already working before they worked for call center companies.
so on and so forth...

health hazard is present in any job environment so it's not an excuse. AIDS is a personal issue and not work related unless the job they have is on flesh and human trafficking.

Yes, high pay ang call center agents because BPO companies are paid in dollars by their foreign or US customers. Also, tax exempted sila by our government while our export companies are not.

Military, Engineers and Teachers do have big salaries compared to CC agents. BUt Not all have that salaries. Also, one point is dollar rate. If Php1=$1 exchange rate, dili siguro mo click and Call Center Diri.,

minimum sueldo sa Pulis with a rank of Police Officer 1 or PO1 is already 15K, so does the public school teachers.

While the normal entry level of most companies with rank and file employees ranges from 8K - 15K these are already under the skilled category while the non-skilled are based on the PhP267 daily minimum wage set by the Regional Wage Board.

Duna ba security of tenure and Call Center Agents?
