Compo or Cover?

compo or cover it doesn't matter as long as you're a disciplined player.

and if u cover, don't just cover for the sake of the song's popularity. cover it because you believe in it. because the song speaks to you and if possible keep the cover version to yourself. instead, make your own version of it. put ur signature sound and touch to it. When Nirvana did Leadbelly's In The Pines(aka Where Did You Sleep Last Night) they put their own stomp to it.

Listen to most tribute albums. Same song. Same tune. Same melody. But different feel... -)

agree gyud ko. if d kasugod daun ug compo, magsugod ug cover. pero ang nakanindot sa deretso compose, labi na lahi2 mo ug influences tanan, lesser ang possibility nai kapareha tuno. im not saying wa kapareha amoa, pero ako point is, mahulog ug fusion inyo songs of different influences. if mucover, tendency is, sa kana na kanta mudagan inyo composition. mapareha mo tanan sa imo kabanda. opinion ra na nako hap. i know daghan maayo na banda na would prove me wrong.

hahaha i think wa ta magkasinabot lol d ta pareho point so dili korek hahaha sakto man sad ka, posible dili gnahan ang usa sa particular tune. agree ko ana. pero one thing u should note about forming a band, dapat d lang pasagad ug kuha. dapat pareha mo pangutok tho lain2 influences. ni.happen na na sa amoa na naay d ganhan sa usa ka riff na gihimo, pero payts raman, kay i.modify raman namo para kami tanan happy. although, swerte lang ko diha dapita sa ako banda cuz magkasinabot mi when it comes to writing songs. we think alike, in a way. pero it was a tedious process to get our brains connected. haha what we did was nag BRAINSTORM. we gave each other MP3's of bands that we like fused. nag share mi ug influences hehe though, i understand pud your point cuz in a way, sakto sad ka. nindot pud na ang pareha jud influence.
