    I don't want to sound antagonistic to halloween fanatics but the bishop has the right to declare a climate of fear among children. For Catholics, the months of october and november should be centered on devotion to Mama Mary and offering sacrifices and prayers for all souls in purgatory. These are holy months and months wherein the outpouring of indulgences are rapid. It is sad to note that when these months come all we can think is that oktoberfest and halloween shall be rocking our minds -- things which aren't helpful for our salvation ...

    are you sure about this? when the church try to threatened noynoy on not supporting him if he doesn't change his views on reproductive health, do you think this is not a tactic to scare him and deprive their support? if they do support him, then just support him unconditionally.

    then your saying the church has no authority on what people thinks? of course, but not in the direct manner. lay people (which most us are uneducated) would surely think "ti orok man gali si noynoy, unsa pa kaha kta". the church already knows about this. but they just keep on denying this situation. isn't this is a picture of irresponsibility? a narrow-minded POV?

    can we also frown on the commercialization of the catholic church then? After all...

    minyo = bayad
    baptism = bayad
    blessing sa balay = bayad
    pagbaligya og crucifix, rosary = bayad

    it's only commercialization if its other people but not the catholic church right?

    I don't "respect" Halloween but I do respect the departed souls during All Saint's Day and on All Soul's Day.
