as far as i know, only the HDD cant be submerged. PSU and other electrical components can be kay dili man conductive and oil...
gawas ra mn ang HDD lyk this one:

exactly like that one bro... cge, tabang ko.. naa ko sempron am2 diri nga procie, anybody interested with giving up a mobo? i can experiment on different oils..
boss simoko, i can facilitate AMD setup if u like...
pde man ta pabuhat glass ba, pina aquarium, mas barato man cguro den leak free... den ngita tag junk nga case, kwaon na2 ang mother board tray den ihumol dd2. ang orientation sa mobo tray pareha.on sa style sa RAVEN1 gani, nga naa sa ibabaw ang mga audio connectors, usb, ps2, videocard....
naa koy nakit.an namaligya mineral oil, dapit sa manalili.. ka2ng namaligya ug mga RTW. botilya ra nuon to. limot sd ko kng tg pila.
i think this mineral oil is the right oil to use...murag dli man na puwede ang cooking oil....
pwede ra ma submerge ang hdd oi wa kau ninyu na sabot. ang important is ang breatherhole sa hdd na dili ma submerge. i dont recommend acrylic case kay beauty ra hatag and transparency much better if metal type para mora siyag heatspreader dili heat container. whats the use in making this rig if the temps are high? better get an oil with greater heat capacity for circulating the heat. gamita lang gud ug physics ninyo kaya ra na.
of course u can submerge the HDD bro. but huna-huna gud how u can put breather pipes from the HDD if submerge na nimo, d ba? goodness, ka-gagmay anang bangaga na?
temps are controlled by oil itself. imagine lng, instead of air, u are recirculating oils nga taas kaayo ug heat capacity. not its not physics that plays much here, its chemistry.
u dont use metal becuase one reason y u do this is for aesthetic purposes, something to be displayed and seen. second, dilikado ang grounds ani if metal imo case becuase u literally open up everything, apil and PSU para nindot tan-awon.
ow, cooking oil can be used. but due to the fact that u open the container and to the atmosphere, dali ra ma-spoil, ma-degrade ang oil. also, dili necessarily pure ang oil, so u might have a bit of conductivity problem. the presence of electrcity itself in minute quantities contributes to faster spoiling of oils, so last option jud ang cooking oil, hehehe...
