TV ratings agency AGB Nielsen Philippines only considers Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal as "Mega Manila" for their TV audience ratings gathering. The area has a population of 17,902,899 or about 23% of the population.

i dont care much about the ratings, kc it isnt stable - ABS or GMA nangunguna, mega manila for GMA, Cebu and Mindanao for ABS, what i care for is the quality of the show a station has to offer, plus the awards it receive from numerous groups or organization for the superb services they give to their viewers, plus quality artists, and it shows ABS CBN has it all, not to mention numerous ads of the station that really show how big ABS CBN is compared to GMA.

Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) Media research. Mega Manila's scope, which has 600 home panels, is 50 percent of the Total Philippines, which has 1, 200 panels. This fact is crucial in the advertising game as well, since most clients believe that urban dwellers have more purchasing power that those living in the suburbs and rural areas.

At least TNS is reaching its survey to other areas of the Philippines.

GMA is a subscriber of AGB while ABS CBN is a subscriber of TNS, so what do you expect?

which is more important - ratings or overall ng station from advertisements, artists, awards, nominations, quality shows, satellite channels, concerts from homegrown artist, top endorsers, highest earner celebrities in RP? i bet i know d answer.
