I'm also using this MSI P35-neo but w/ PDC E2160 OC'ed to 2.6ghz stable using Orthos using mobo Bios ver. 1.9. I cannot pass over 2.6 w/out an error from orthos. I'm using branded PSU. Like you i'm also experiencing this shutdowns and need to switch off for a couple of minutes and will boot again. As i search the internet I found that most users using this board have same problems with us. Some user said that this shutdowns were safety or protection feature of the motherboard and some said that its a faulty board and they replaced it. What i have experiencing until now is that everytime i switch on my pc it will power up then shutdown then after a couple of seconds it will start up again and boot and back to normal. I'm getting used to this problem until now. And waiting for some money for mobo upgarde. Hope this info will help.

It's an old ATI X1950XT. This shouldn't be the reason why.

Hehehe. I think you bought this from me. Does this have zalman GV1000 cooler?

Anyway just don't bump up the voltage too much. It could be the mobo is not able to properly detect the dafault voltage of the proc.

UPDATE!

Just this afternoon, Master Beor and I have tested the system with 2 of the best PSUs namely Silverstone and HEC BUT still it shuts down.

Sir Simoko, I guess I just have to return this to your friend. Hehe.

Both of us felt like we were staring at a blank wall and couldn't come up with any solution whatsoever.

Any open ideas are welcome! Thank you all for your help!

bro ok raman na ng imaster even if generic kay 45nm naman ang E8400... ang besides compatible mana ang P35 nga board sa E8400.... maybe sa board naay problema...
