im going to harvest the honey tonyt.. will post pic on the process of harvesting.
@Nikki - Im very sorry I was not able to reply. I was busy harvesting honey that I wasnt able to check my phone.
Im brushing of the bees. The frames are heavy, filled with honey. Those little black dots on the white boxes are the bees. They are just all around me.
The ripe, ready to harvest honey are sealed with wax. We have to slice it off so that we could extract the honey. The paper-like things on the side of the tray are the wax that used to seal the honey.
This is the honey extractor. It spins the frame, forcing the honey out. The honey will splatter to the sides of the wall and drip to the bottom.
At the bottom of the extractor, there's a faucet. We drain the honey and strain it to catch the small pieces of the wax, but the pollens and propolis (natures anti-bacteria) will pass thru. We let it sit on the container for about a week or so, and pack it in the bottle.
Any questions please ask me....
Last night we were able to harvest 30gal of honey out from 27frames. thats about 1.1liters of honey per frame.![]()

its the same. but it was proven that the darker the honey, the more anti-oxidant it contains.
