I only tried it on my web directories.. for testing ... ftp, frontpage, crimsn editor or notepad... use that three for testing a scrpt...

PHP can't be tested offline (server-side scripting), unless of course you have your own webserver running (Apache, for example).
I haven't tried ASP nor ASPNet, I'm not sure if I'm even willing (lol) so I'm sticking to my preference of using PHP.
And besides most web hosting servers out there supports PHP than ASP. Although Im not generally saying that PHP is better then ASP but in the long you will benefit more if you try to master PHP since servers that is capable of PHP is easy to find.
Another thing is that windows servers that supports ASP is more expensive compared to linux servers. You can get Red Hat and Apache for free to be able to run PHP. Windows license is expensive..
