discuss about survival english....that's what they came here for....to be conversant using the english language....you can have a topic about telling time, giving directions, how to complain, how to ask questions...there are lots of topics to start with (vacation, family, childhood) but please avoid topics like religion, politics, etc...you might end up having a heated debate instead of a demo...just let your student enjoy it with pictures to let them get involved with the lesson....show enthusiasm and always practice using polite expressions for the student to follow....
always start of by introducing yourself and let the student ask questions, in this way, you will know the level of your student...from there, you know what to teach him/her...you can't just go ahead and discuss a topic that doesn't fit to your student's level....

^how about this:
prepare two sets of cards
one set is composed of subjects - singular and plural
the other set is composed of verbs - singular and plural
ask the students to pair up so that meaningful and grammatically correct (S-V agreement) sentences are made.

ako kay mag stricto-stricto sa first interaction para mo behave, kay dominator kaayo na cla labi na ang mga bata. If ma bored na gani cla kay mag duwa mi like hangman or any game nga makat-on gihapon cla og english..Usahay kay scrabble.
