perhaps @herp_doctor will fly over to iligan or your place and treat you to a warm and nice dinner as an adoption favor in return plus of course all credits goes to you and your dad for caturing this specie.

that way you give a good specimen to a herp medical practitioner.

Correction sir.. It is the cobra (N. philippinensis) with the most potent venom around, its not the 3rd most venomous snake. The ten most venomous snakes are all found in Australia, and the three most venomous snake are the Taipan snake (3rd), the Common Brown (2nd) and lastly the Inland Taipan or the Fierce snake (1).

Ironically, the most venomous snake in the world is also the only venomous snake on record with no human death or fatality. This is probably because the place where its located, in Central Australia, there's absolutely no humans to bite. The only humans they encounter out in the bush are people like us. They dont even have a natural fear for humans unlike those other snakes you see around. They are very docile, placid and inquisive. They're not even aggressive. But it sure does squeezed the shit out me everytime i handle one, i dont want be the 1st one on record... hehehe...

The snake with that vernacular name i know of are the Temple viper (T. wagleri) and/or the Bamboo viper (T.f. flavomaculatus). They're not cobras, but rather vipers...

But its good to know that the name "Dupong" is synonymous with venomous snakes there. Nice info...

the philippine cobra in luzon or the tagalog area is called in local parlance "ulopong" ulo which means head, hence cobra's stretches their what ever you call that when excited or under fear.
