it all boils down to your budget and your use for the mobo..
if you've got no prob with money might as well go with the best..
overclocking? nitto1320i is right about the DFI LANParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert
its HT bus can go higher than 400MHz -

as stated in the link the competition is 95MHz away.
but if you don't plan to do that extreme of an OC the MSI K8N Diamond Plus' package might interest you.
- it OC's fairly well
- it uses an nForce4 SLI X16 chipset which means you've got two X16 PCI-E slots.. that is if you're into SLI
- it has a fancy copper heatpipe bridge cooling solution
- its got a built-in 7.1-channel Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE audio (for better audio performance and quality..well at least compared to other built-in audio. still, having a separate audio card is best)
- and to top it off, it also comes with a separate tube filter with a VU meter that offers volume control, a headphones jack, and a volume needle indicator.

i think that's a great package.. but that's just me..
if you're on a tight budget then just choose any mobo from any of the good brands.. e.g. ASUS, DFI, MSI, Abit, Epox, Gigabyte.. etc.
and like K|D says, warranty is very important.
oh, and about the ati chipset, it has a great overall performance but it has some minor issues that's why its still best to go with the nForce4 ones. But if these little flaws don't really bother you, you can check em out too.
reading reviews is always a good place to start when deciding to buy anything.
for mobos you can check out tomshardware.com, anandtech.com, techreport.com or better yet just google em.
