I have to disagree about tapulan, I thought we meant Americans? Binogo man nang dili mangambisyon ug taas² nga career. They work so dili sila tapulan. Mga bogo lang gyud. Instead of finding ways to further their studies, adto ma kontento ra trabaho sa oil rigs... or kaha train tracks. Let's not pertain to naturalized americans here, but born americans. Ato mang gi specify ang fil-americans, so I thought when you said americans pasabot nato born americans, mga lumad.
let's just talk about all americans in particular here (living in america right now). whether it's fil-ams, black, hispanic, or whatever as long as naa sila sa america nag puyo. i think it's an insult to say that "binogo man nang dili mangambisyon ug taas2x nga career". so you mean bogo diay si juan or si pedro kay nakuntento ra sila sa pagka farmer or labandera? a lot of people get satisfied with even small little things, and that includes their jobs. and it doesn't mean that just because they work, dili sila tapulan.Originally Posted by n`gel
i work part time in a blue collar job as of now, just to cover my expenses in school. but does that mean that im not tapulan? you can be tapulan in so many ways. and mind you, a lot of my co-workers is sooooooooo tapulan, tapulan pa sa tanang nangamatay.
so i think the right word in adding to the word tapulan is "satisfied". aside from a lot of americans having this kind of trait, most of them are just satisfied of the kind of jobs they have so they end up not going to college.
Either bogo or tapulan, pareha ra na sila. But one thing is true, mga pinoys maru gyud. Doble kamas, duha tuloy trabaho. Like we agreed there are a couple of reasons why these fil-americans opt to go home to the Philippines to finish their studies. Lumad nga mga americans on the other hand is a completely different topic na. So.. padayon ta.
yeah.. just to make it clear, we're referring to americans who lives here.
hmmmmm, hey the thread starter is i think a Fil-Am..![]()
