are these models available here?
SONY is buying LCD screens from Sharp in a bid to bolster its flagging sales. Sony has not made LCD or plasma display panels but has preferred to shop at its chum Samsung.
The Inquirer.Net = to be taken with a grain of salt.
However, The Nikkei Net Interactive... well.

2MP 27" is really a plus but you really wont be able to tell the difference unless you are sitting very close to the TV. But if you are sitting 6-8ft away (average TV rooms/theatres) you wont be able to see any difference between 720p and 1080p.
You will enjoy benefits though of 1080p if you have TV around 60 inches and above
Of course it would still be a plus to a TV that supports 1080p
Sharp and Sony are the two top dogs heavily competing against each other in Japan for the LCD market. I would choose any of these brands by a heartbeat. But if someone would give me a sammy or philips, Id take it faster than a heartbeat![]()
for movies perhaps, but using it as a pc monitor....
As a PC monitor, putting your res at 1080p mite be too much for some, you would expect all text to be hard to read, they would end up really small on the screen at that res. So as a PC monitor, I would suggest using this resolution only when playing games that support it and watching moviesOr if you want to use it all the time then better to have text and icon enhancements to enlarge them. 27" mite even be a little to big as an LCD PC-monitor for me
22-24 would be just right. But this is just my opinion
It mite be a whole different scenario for video editors and photographers who do editing -D
yes it maybe too much for some, but my point is you can definitely tell the difference @1080p than 720p when used as a pc monitor. tried my 40 inch 1080p tv once as a monitor no problems with text there, though i do have 2020 vision so.... also have a 30 inch lcd monitor @4mp (2560x1600) and the text size is fine as well without any isize mod.i love how my 4mp pictures fit the screen 1:1 and most of all love the extra real estate @4mp gives, and oh gaming @4mp is godlike!![]()
