A lot of people are really ignorant when it comes to MILITARY STUFF , not that I know more but I am in the position to say yes since I served in the US NAVY for 8 glorious years of active duty both in sea and in shore . I have been there and done that . I have seen joint excercises by both US and AFP (CARAT and BALIKATAN ) , seen how SWAGS trains with FROGMEN , jog with them in Coronado Island when I was in SAR duty , seen them in wargames ( you wouldnt even think its just a game ) .

Ang NAVSOG pa gani na , we are not even talking about the MARINE FORCE RECONS and the SCOUT RANGERS .

When I was serving in the civil war for peace keeping in EAST TIMOR ( separation from Indonesia as a state ) sometime '98 attached to USS TARAWA LHA-1 , daghan ko na meet didto na mga SWAG , mga hepe kadaghanan serving almost 30 years na . Di na pod sila physically fit but can still easily break someones neck .

Share lang nako ang sad story nila . WHile on duty , they still wear the AFP issued uniforms instead of the blue cammies they are supposed to be issued . Wala nila nadawat gyud ang uniform allowance from the UN . Nasangit na pod sa top brass cguro . Same thing with the SWAG personnel I met , they prefer to serve and remainon active duty , mas klaro pa ang sweldo nila compared if mo retire na sila , dili sila sure if makadawat ba sila ug pension .

They are only a fraction , tuldok ra na sila sa whole AFP personnel . Mga SWAG ra to sila, how much more ang mga orindary service members lang ?
