A lot of people are really ignorant when it comes to MILITARY STUFF , not that I know more but I am in the position to say yes since I served in the US NAVY for 8 glorious years of active duty both in sea and in shore . I have been there and done that . I have seen joint excercises by both US and AFP (CARAT and BALIKATAN ) , seen how SWAGS trains with FROGMEN , jog with them in Coronado Island when I was in SAR duty , seen them in wargames ( you wouldnt even think its just a game ) .
Ang NAVSOG pa gani na , we are not even talking about the MARINE FORCE RECONS and the SCOUT RANGERS .
So keep all the BS to yoruselves , I dont want to hear or see post about inutil ni sila tungod sa kapalpakan sa BUS HOSTAGE TAKING , wala ni silay BAWT sa CHINA , basin sa TAINING ra ni sila kutob . Boys ... you guys dont have the slightest idea what these MEN of HONOR are capable of doing .
Mao ni ang naa sa akong wall sa FB , take pride on it maski sa AFP man lang .

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flagthat allows the protester to burn the flag.

Naa koy innocent question ha. Please chill lang mo answer. I posted this from another thread pero walamai naka tubag nako didto. Maybe naay maka tubag nako dri.
I was watching this NatGeo docu called Locked Up Abroad and the capture of Martin and Gracia Burnham was featured. There was also a feature of the Sipadan ( but they were brought to Jolo) kidnapping of a South African couple, a couple of Malaysians and a Filipino. Yeah, two episodes that involved the Abu Sayaff.
I really don't want to bad mouth our military but the way they were supposed to save the hostages was so rash. I mean I'm not a military expert but don't they have tactics on how to save the hostages? They were just firing bullets and shelling in every direction. In the two episodes involving gun fights between the Abu Sayaff and the Philippine Military, the hostages said instead of the military protecting them they felt like it was the terrorists who acted as their protector. Ironic eh? One South African even said that after they were shelled and the Abu Sayaff "sort of" protected them, they trusted them. Though it was false trust but you know...The military was that bad for a hostage to say that.
The one with the Sipadan ep (South African hostages) one hostage even said: "The Philippine government had an inclination about our safety that they were willing to sacrifice us." This was said after a clip was shown where the military was shelling (everywhere) the terrorists' camp.
Hope you guys could also watch those episodes.
When several hostages were freed (Libyan leader Gadhafi paid for the ransom daw =D), they were transported in a helicopter and one said: "I looked up and then there was this beautiful island but there was so much EVIL inside it." It's just sad.

Follow up: Kinsa tong responsiblesa pag hostage rescue atong sa ka Burnham ug katong sa Sipadan?
