[quote=flying fish;4336422][quote=flying fish;4336384]CONCEPT OF GOD & SIN
According to buddhism, the belief in the forgiveness of sins by a supernatural being is not justifiable,
the effects of certain evil deeds that we have committed can only be overcome by increasing our meritorious deeds & maintaining healthy, pure minds.
This cannot be done merely praying to anybody.
This is a religion for people to practise on the basis of their own convictions & understanding & not out of fear of eternal hell fire.
The idea of being made to suffer eternally is foreign to buddhism w/c teaches that both enjyments & suffering are temporary & not eternal.
The belief in a creator God is the most important concept to the followers of every religion.
To them, there is no life or religion w/o God.
However, Buddhism does not acknowledge the same belief.
The concept of God in Buddhism is entirely different from that in the other religions.
Buddhism work for their salvation by leading a noble, religious life & through mental purification w/o depending on any God.
