    [quote=flying fish;4336422][quote=flying fish;4336384]CONCEPT OF GOD & SIN

According to buddhism, the belief in the forgiveness of sins by a supernatural being is not justifiable,
the effects of certain evil deeds that we have committed can only be overcome by increasing our meritorious deeds & maintaining healthy, pure minds.
This cannot be done merely praying to anybody.

This is a religion for people to practise on the basis of their own convictions & understanding & not out of fear of eternal hell fire.
The idea of being made to suffer eternally is foreign to buddhism w/c teaches that both enjyments & suffering are temporary & not eternal.

The belief in a creator God is the most important concept to the followers of every religion.
To them, there is no life or religion w/o God.
However, Buddhism does not acknowledge the same belief.
The concept of God in Buddhism is entirely different from that in the other religions.
Buddhism work for their salvation by leading a noble, religious life & through mental purification w/o depending on any God.

-Petitional prayer coming from the belief of scarcity is never calming, it in fact agitates more the mind & making it more insecure,
-Repetitive prayer out of habit may redirect the mind from its normal groove of worry, fears, etc.
Repetitive prayer is like diverting your thoughts to watching movies, sining, dancing, ******, drinking, taking drugs or talking to friends & it seems your mind is calm but when the diversion is stop the monkey mind is back top its habit.
-If meditation you mean the process of "tuning in", calmness of the mind is but a consequence but not the goal

"k" was prepared (his body) as the vehicle of Maitreya,
varied opinions re his avatar role:

    it failed,
it was successful, under the guise of failure
it was successful in his older years
it penetrates "K" every now & then in his talks
    or
his life is a classic exmple of an aspirant treading upon the "great initiation"
his teachings, nothing new, his buddhistic approach & his love to siddartha explains why

as to the next avatar, i think it will be father regnauld

    Confidence & a Religious life

Buddhism teaches that a truly religious life is one based on moral discipline & mental training & not through mere faith or praying to external powers.
A religious man is one who contributes to the PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE among beings & practises, GOODWILL, COMPASSION, HARMONY & UNDERSTANDING.
The duty of religion is to train the HUMAN MIND to achieve this end & to guide humanity towards spiritual development, a noble attainment sadly lacking humankind today.
