intel is more on marketing strategy because AMD is sleeping now not like before ^_^
Sure whatever, there is a weekly/monthly reduction in prices if you have noticed ( PCX prices for example ) Aug 08 is the ONLY intel scheduled price drop.Originally Posted by wolverines_claws
for clarification, the price drop i'm stating here is for our local market..Base on my observation, Intel needs to adjust prices for marketing strategy. For example, right now, the Price of the Core 2 Duo E8500 processors (running on 3.16GHz, 1333FSB & 6MB Cache) is having the same Price with Core 2 Quad Q9300 (running on 2.5GHz, 1333FSB & 6MB Cache). Of course, if one wants a higher performance, you will choose Core 2 Quad although it has lower clock speed than Core 2 Duo..tnx
Like i said, there are local price changes based on item depreciation, we dont need your suppliers/sources to tell us that a weekly/monthly observation on PCX's price list reflects that.Originally Posted by wolverines_claws
For the E8500 you are paying a premium price for its higher multiplier.. its been like that for ages already.Originally Posted by wolverines_claws
For perofrmance the E8500 might be faster on SINGLE threaded applications. but practically why buy a dualcore today when the price difference in it is less than 3,500 in getting a quad.
my sharing of info is for the benefit of those members who don't know or not aware of the price drops.. if you feel that you know everything thats going around & don't need any infos, by all means don't mind what i'm sharing..tnx![]()
Information is always welcome but please do post accurate information with credible proof, at first you stated thatOriginally Posted by wolverines_claws
