arctic cooling MX2 is the best right now...Originally Posted by vAnzaNt

note that the reviewer is comparing temp deltas, that is, the difference between ambient and idle and ambient and load temps (the smaller the differences, the better)
imho, if the temp difference between using any thermal compound (as5, ac mx2, jetart/cdrking, nanotherm, etc.) is no more than 2 degrees C, then for me price and availability would be the next major factors in choosing. that's the problem here in cebu, much of what we know are available overseas take time to reach us, if ever.

base sa akong experience sa comparing ceramique, STG1, chill factor and MX2... lower ug mga 3 degrees celsius ang MX2 over chill factor, 2degrees lower pud siya sa ceramique, lower pud siya at load sa STG1 ug mga 2degrees.Originally Posted by emoners

you're correct bro...IMO, it would boil down to personal experience. :mrgreen:Originally Posted by fish

AS5 vs. toothpaste vs. mustard vs. ketchup vs. Turnip rape oil
" I did some fast testing today. I have heard myths about someone who had to use toothpaste instead of aftermarket thermal compound, and he claimed toothpaste works better. I wanted to test this and go a bit beyond.
Testing rig in the sig, except that CPU was lapped and running completely @ stock with lapped stock HSF.
Temperatures were measured with the S&M CPU Stresstesting tool, which can be found from here. Testing was made with S&M aswell. Ran L1 cache, L2 cache, CPU Integer and CPU FPU tests, all with 100% CPU load and "short". I took the maximum temperature from the run as measurement. Ambient was around +22C.

All feedback is more than welcome. I am eager to test some more stuff between the CPU and the heatsink. Any ideas?
I have to mention that ketchup/mustard/toothpaste can't be used 24/7, as it already dried out in 10 minutes of running. It was real pain in the ass to clean it up. "

OT:
hahaha! too much time on one's hands c",)
ketchup, mustard, toothpaste are all corrosive to metals... and dries up faster than even the lowest-quality thermal compound. as for the turnip/rape(seed?) oil, any enthusiast knows oils are a no-no unless you have a good surface cleaner. perhaps the author was tired of doing the same tests and wanted something new. hehehe! an original.
None, you have to order them in the U.S.Originally Posted by Abaddon
