judging the results of the recent election, do you think filipinos are now politically mature?
Too immature. And that goes to most of the politicians as well. We, the voters, didn't have much good choices either.

for me, layu pa intawn kung matawag ang filipinos as "politically matured."

Still money works for immatured people. Mao na problema. Magpadala gihapon sila sa mga corrupt nga politicians.

no were not. the problem kasi is this. pumapayag silang matanga ng gobyerno. nagpapadala sila sa mga walang kuwentang pangako. here are some tips that i think we must change for the betterment of our country.

    1. Remove all TRAPOS! (traditional politicians) ang tagal niyo ng nakaupo diyan wala naman kayung naidudulot na maganda. Let others lead specially the ones with fresh minds.
    2. End all political dynasties! All dynasties from every barrio from luzon to mindanao should end. It dont matter whether its a small time position like a barangay captain. Youve been there for so long, please move! mayaman na kayo ok. let someone else sit, yung tipong how do i put this...ahhh yes, yung may SIIILLLLLLLLLBIIII!!!!!!!
    3. Give a higher qualification for all positions. (president to barangay captains including tanods if necessary) I mean come on, PACMAN? JINGGOY? BONG REVILLA? are you kidding me?! Taasan ang requirement para kahit sino man ang manalo eh ok lang kasi they all deserve to win. Look at the US Candidates for 08 (OBAMA, Clinton, EDWARDS etc.) what do they all have in common? Experience, talent and above all good quality education so that whoever wins then its not a problem cause either ways all of them has enough talent to bring success.
    4. People dont be stupid! Your paying taxes and saan napupunta mga yun? Ask questions! dont just stand there and act like nothings happening. Complain and force the issue hanggang sa bumigay ang gobyerno sa gusto ng tao which is to have better jobs, better wages and above all better life! Ask them san napupunta mga pera ninyo! Ask them san na yung mga pangako nila! Demand for something better di yung nakokontento na lang kayo sa 1000 pesos na inaabot sa inyo during campaigns for elections. Come on you deserve something better! We all do!
    5. Enough politics! Its starting to become one big "soap opera"! Bring investors in here! Give people jobs, not hand outs but good, decent jobs! Let people in this country to invest. Look for other alternatives. Teka nga di ba UP grad yung iba sa inyo diyan? LA SALLE? ATENEO? Shet anu use niyo diyan? Display! Do something!
    6. Lastly, look at yourselves and ask this question. "WHAT AM I DOING HERE?!" Binoto ka ba para magpayaman o binoto ka para magsilbi? Leche ang gaganda ng sasakyan niyo, ang sasarap ng kinakain niyo dont you ever stop to think kung sino ang nagbibigay niyan? Thats right! Kami! Kami ang rason bat nakaupo ka sa air-conditioned office mo so get your ass up and do something! Some say na kasalanan din ng tao kung bat sila naghihirap at walang kinalaman ang gobyerno. I dont totally agree dahil sa nakikita ko puro naman sila papogi at wala tayung napapala. Buti sana kung may nakikita kang effort.
    7. Were already sinking! Yung mga walang alam please sit down! (e.g. celebrities)

this are my opinions and when you look at it you dont need to spend some of our countrys budget to implement this. all you need is some good old common sense and konting realization. yun lang.

The business of politics is inherently the business of adults acting like children ... wherever you go.

    supposedly:

"Sovereignty resides with the people and all government authorities emanates from them"

The government lives because of us, they should be the one serving us.

what has been the trend so far? when we Go to LTO, these LTO officers don't entertain you unless you have some under the table or snacks ready for them. They are wasting our taxes, we are the ones who has been paying them. THEY WERE PAID TO SERVE US!

it's really ironic that they deem consider themselves as superior or privilege among the hoi polloi.

so long as we live with this kind of mentally, how can everyone be Politically mature, people don't even know that the law are there to protect their rights.

We are the ones putting these people in public office through election. Sometimes, we tend to forget that we have the so-called contributory negligence why those unqualified are put into public office.

Based on the recent election, we are far from being politically mature. We still have those political dynasties with us. We have less of those artistas but we were able to put popular but not working senators and coup plotters.

Maybe we can continue learning, though.
